“There’s this guy at work”, this isn’t a friend or someone you’ve gotten to know on a personal level, just some dude you often observe. So I don't know how you feel comfortable asserting how he does or doesn’t feel or how he is or isn’t acting. You don’t know he’s confident, you don’t know he’s shy, or any of that, because he’s never told you as much. You have just decided what he is and want us to chime in on your overthinking. Why not just focus on doing your job rather than dictating how people feel.
