Why do guys tend to be simps on the job?

Serious question. So many dudes in the workplace act like they've never seen a female and when they do they all start simping. I have mostly guys on my job and whenever a young chick starts working there they act like they're in high school or college again trying to get a girl. And half of them are married or already have girlfriends! They all start falling all over themselves or try to be around the girl all the time. And this is not the first job where I've seen this.

I can only go by my own personal experience with this, but they didn't have a name for it back then like simping. This happened in 1980-85.

I'll tell you that this is NOT something new with guys.

I worked at the telephone company as the big bosses secretary. There was one other young lady there too, but she was married and I was single.

There were 140 guys who were working there and 2 females.

I had married, single and in a relationship guys pawning after me.
I did end up seeing 2 of the guys but it never lasted. One married guy told me that he was falling in love with me. He would climb up to the top of a very tall telephone pole outside of my window at work, and I'd see him and waved and he waved and we both smiled at each other. We'd talk for a bit. He was after my the most but I don't do married guys! Respect for his wife.

One put his hand up my dress as we were all walking down the hallway after work was over for the day. But he didn't know that my boss was right behind him and saw him do that to me. Then it was on! My boss took him by the back of his neck and walked him all the way outside and threw the guy on the ground and yelled at him to never touch me again.

They would show up at my home unannounced and some just had problems and needed to talk to someone. Others came around dinner time and I would make them a plate.

But I wasn't a slut like some women and I made friends with some of them.
Because if I was, the word would get out and then all they would want from me is sex and I didn't want that!

One guy came up to my desk and took a picture of me with his camera because we didn't have cellphones yet.

I have more to say but you get the idea.

Your story is exactly like other women I've known who were surrounded by dudes armt work. Some even have a few horror stories. Thanks for sharing.

Maybe mostly just in male dominated work fields? 🤷🏻‍♀️

They probably get tired of seeing nothing but guys around for hours so when they seeing a pretty woman is something new in their routine.

I haven’t noticed this in my previous jobs that have been mixed gender.

I've worked both mixed gender, female dominated, and male dominated fields. Dudes will act like this even in mixed jobs. I remember a girl on my team years ago would literally have other male associates AND managers just standing around her in a circle because they all wanted her so bad. It was nuts.

Don't get me wrong, as a guy in a male dom job it gets pretty bland with few chicks around, but I've worked long enough to know how to control myself. A lot of these dudes already got a woman and they're still hungry.

This is the absolute TRUTH. It almost always works for me. All the guys who keep trying to talk to or be around the girl just start to bore her, but she gets curious about me because I'm the only dude not falling all over myself to be around her.

It’s mostly girls that I work with. It’s either at the fuel dock or on a boat as an attendant for the super rich folks.

Most the the guys at the club work in the boatyard using all that complicated equipment to lift boats in and out of the water for repairs, cleaning and stuff.

Not really around them a whole lot. They are nice guys, but they don’t simp.

Hm. I would imagine even in a job like that some dudes would still try to find a way to get near you guys. It's rare to see dudes NOT doing this on any job so this is interesting.

Honestly, they have no time. That and I am either on a boat or at the fuel dock, which is fairly isolated area.

Those guys work their asses off. The are moving up to 20 ton boats around that costs millions via remote control. They can't be off flirting with girls with that responsibility.

Lmao, hardly. It is a nice marina on the Great Lakes. We do get 100 footers. A lot are charter gigs. Owners rent them to pay for their boats.

One guy owns like every restaurant and hotel in town. No celebs. I like the family events vs corporate stuff.

It is that or the fuel dock, which is boring at.
