How do shy men act at work when they secretly like you?

I have this colleague who acts a bit odd around me. It’s very subtle but I noticed when he talks to me he tends to talk about anything and sort of quietly ramble, trail off and then start another convo on something random. Whilst with other people he is rather loud and assertive. I also noticed he drops back in a group setting at times so we walk together or seens to always end up sitting next to me. But then besides that there isn’t much. I was wondering how liking behaviour shows up in different people, esp. shy ones.

Shy guys are annoying when it comes to liking the opposite sex lol. It does sound like he likes you or if he’s older then he’s playing it cool so he doesn’t seem like a creep. If you like him back you’d have to help him out and make the first move. My guy is shy and when I told him I liked him after many signs showing me he did, he confirmed he liked me too. He later told me that no one had ever said that to him before and I think that gave him the courage to do something about it. Sometimes shy guys need a little nudge.

At work it can be hard to tell bc a guy MIGHT just be focused on work and not actually shy or quiet or too private (or whatever you want to call it). Workplace isn't the place for you to let your eyes wander and ruminate over whether a co-worker likes or doesn't like you for anything aside from your workplace functionality. It’s a good sign if they’re engaging and looking nervous especially more nervous around you. Maybe you need to just keep warming him up to you and initiate conversation to see what happens.

If someone doesn’t like you they don’t care as much about what you think of them as well as will generally avoid you unless they have to talk to you.
