Why do some guys stalk and like my posts but never message me?

Why do some boys stalk you over social media, heart react to every post and story but never text you or try to start a conversation? Is it just because all my posts are that good and I am too much into it? Or, do I need to give them a signal or something?

Scanning this question and the responses makes me cynical about the current generation's ability to interact socially after growing up behind a phone screen on social media.

Maybe those guys appreciate your comments and are just giving you a thumbs up. But they realize that "meeting people" online is never going anywhere and so they aren't trying to get to know you or chat you up. Maybe they're saving that conversation for women they meet in real life? Women without filters and Photoshop in 3 dimensions who can communicate in real time. Just a thought.

Could be that the way your content is presented puts you in conference mode, speaker vs audience scenario, so you're gaining audience but there's no one to talk to lol. It wouldn't be unusual because social media is designed to encourage this type of pyramidal interaction

As opposed to forums where texting is the main activity, or places like g@g that connect askers and opinion owners

It’s not always stalking. Sometimes you just find someone interesting but have no interest in meeting them. I do it too and there’s no hidden meaning behind it. If it’s confusing you, just ask them. A guy once asked me why I’d been following him for a year without ever messaging him, which is the best way to get a real answer.

Maybe you need to troll them more to add to the intrigue. That should wake them up and get them talking. Some might be negative to it, but some attention, even bad, is better than none.
