Why is my crush confident from afar but freezes when I approach him?

when he does steps he seems confident.

In your age range, crushes should be treated like adults, not teenage angst. If you like him, then you should find a way to have that conversation, at least then you factually know where he stands vs asking us on the internet who don’t know him personally and aren’t in your shoes. If you have already confessed and romantic interest has been mutually confirmed, then that’s a different story.

Honey its a gamble no matter what. Nobody else, in person or online, can tell you how he is feeling or what’s on his mind. Only he can do that. I think you’re not only being overly cautious but avoidant and wasting time. You’re waiting for signals and signs to do something you may not have the courage to because you’re petrified of being rejected. You shouldn’t feel that way from basically being told “no”. No shouldn’t destroy your self esteem. If it does then you shouldn’t explore any crush until you’ve got better self esteem.
