For a man to use a woman for an ego boost does she need to have certain qualities internally or externally?

It depends on the guy, same as a woman.

Some women will consider any GENUINE pass made by a guy as a compliment. IMHO this is a good woman. But some women considers a GENUINE pass made by a guy who SHE considers NOT on her level to be an INSULT. IMHO this is NOT a good woman.

As so it is with men. A person does NOT have put themselves out there for you. And anytime someone does it whether they be man or woman it should be regarded as a compliment. Whether you be interested or not.

Unfortunately, dating is a MEAT MARKET. You have to find a way to NOT take the actions of the opposite gender personal. Because it almost always has NOTHING to do with you and almost always has EVERYTHING to do with them.

Women exploit men for attention. That's just the way it is. Men exploit women that are gettable that is ALSO just the way it is. It is incumbant upon the men to learn and understand who the women are who are just using them for attention. Likewise, it is incumbent upon the women to deduce the men who are exploiting them because he knows she is gettable. You may not like this REALITY. But it is still REALITY and unfortunately is not changing. You're NOT a victim.

For the ego boost part of it, it helps if she's beautiful. That way, the man gains status in the eyes of other men and, presumably, in the eyes of women as well, who wonder what he's got going for him that a beautiful woman like that would be interested in him.

I would assume he needs to actually value her and think she is very attractive. Why else would he want her to like him or get some sort of pleasure from it?
