What does it mean if a woman emails a man to reconnect years later?

How would you as a guy likely respond if at all?

The circumstance was that he really liked her, said so but she was had a partner at the time and so he relocated to a different city.

She tried to contact him via a mutual friend when she split up with him but he never received the message. So now several years later she found him and emailed.. they are both in their early 40s.

I’m not a guy but stuff like this feels like some desperate attempt at reconnecting with a guy from the past because you want someone in your present so badly. It also feels like chasing ghosts of the past, trying to relive moments that you can’t get back.

Very few people think beyond themselves. She hit a dead end in life most likely. And while she MAY HAVE genuinely liked that guy she trying to contact now, he clearly was NOT her first choice. He should keep that in mind and proceed very cautiously if he still has interest. A leopard does NOT change it's spots.👍
