I would like to also point out this is on Snapchat, he never shows his face, have two kids in middle school, and the texts are really inappropriate

I don't think so. He knows its over between him and his wife, and he's trying to see if there's any chemistry between you and him. If you don't see any future with him or like him like that then I would say not to socialize with him that much. It doesn't mean you have to completely cut him off. You could also tell him you have no desire to be with him just so he knows.
