Why do men online still use “lower your standards or be single” as a threat?

I can kinda understand if you're in person because you're probably talking to the woman you actually want to be with, so it's a direct threat, but cloaked as a general statement. However, online, it doesn't have any weight because it's so broad it includes the women who you don't like or wouldn't truly love. The majority of women actually gave that statement a chance and realized it doesn't work. Now it's just a sign to avoid that man because he's not going to be a good partner. He wants to have his cake and eat it too. He wants to be the only judge. If you do something he doesn't like, he'll leave with standards that you didn't live up to while you leaving, means you picked a guy purposely who couldn't meet your standards. The way others see your choices and the way you see yourself is totally different.

Guys are on the apps to get sex -- most of them anyway. This "lower your standards" is the bat signal for "I just want to screw you and move on... you're lucky you're even getting me."

And guess what? You'll be single anyway. You think THAT GUY will come to lunch with your family or out on proper dates? He won't. He'll meet up, shack up, screw and move on. EVEN IF he moves in with you, there's a reason that has NOTHING to do with you or feelings or anything. He needs a roof over his head and a screw.

I'm telling you this in these terms bc too many women your age fall for it and then women MY age have to hear women griping about this nonsensical sort of "App Man" who never wants anything more than a screw and perhaps a cup of coffee.

THEY are the ones with self esteem issues who are trying to drag a good woman down. Don't be one of the statistical women they drag down. Block them and keep them off your path.

I've heard guys say "lower your standards" but not the other one. It's still true. Most women online - especially on dating apps - are trying to find men of some kind of extreme status, and call it having "high standards." These women themselves don't even have the status they're looking for. It's not enough for them to find a decent guy who actually knows how to take care of a woman and child, makes decent money, or is a decent person in general. These chicks want men of a certain kind of status, but will still sleep with guys who are pieces of shit they would never even marry.

It's not a threat. It's one bitter guy's excuse for why no woman wants him. he's not gonna admit he's the problem. Do you wanna admit you're the problem? Reality usually lies somewhere in the middle.

I only say that when women have unrealistic dating standards (which in it's self is fine) and then starts saying that men are trash because she can't find a good man after making her dating pool small.
