I had no idea what this "Say Yes to the Dress" is all about. I had to search the internet and found out that is it just yet another of those stupid US produced shows that are made for people that have nothing better to do than to watch that kind of cheap produced nonsense show and cheap production without a real story to it.

As to why your boyfriend is obsessed with it, I can only presume that he has an issue with clothing and dresses in particular. Perhaps you should ask him directly what motivates him. It could also be that he is hinting at something here.
