What does "get a few drinks soon" mean?

I use to date this guy about 2 years ago, he's currently in a relationship for about a year with some girl, but about 2 months ago he contacted me asking how I am and stuff, well just the other day he says "we should get a few drinks soon"...what exactly does this mean?...i mean I am a girl he kinda dated and he does have a girlfriend so that's why I'm reading into it...

I think he wants to catch up it's not unusual for a guy (or gorl) to want to see what's going on in the life of an ex (especially if the relationship was more good then bad) kind of one of those find out what I may have missed out on.

It can mean anything from "let's talk for 20 minutes and catch up and reminisce" to "I'm interested in dating you again and what to see how you respond."
