What's it mean if a guy friend is very protective of you?

Like he tells you to watch what you say and do on the internet because of all the creeps out there, or he won't tell you how to do something that could get you in trouble and just stuff like that(I can't think of any more specifically right now). Like he just acts like he cares a lot about your well being and safety and stuff.

It could be the "little sister friendship", if you have siblings and in particular a protective older brother.. something like that except that you get along all the time ;)

It doesn't mean that he wants more from you then friendship, it doesn't have to mean that at all.

It could be obviously as it is a boy - girl friendship and its not uncommon for good friends to start developing feelings but I don't believe it has anything to do with the question you asked itself.

then this "good\close guy friend" should like you more than a friend,..it sounds like he really cares about you and therefore if he really does he might really like you as well. You should ask him if he does have these feelings,..in case you haven't noticed
