he waves at me from far away, asks me to join the group, when were alone he stares at me, makes eye contact, he's nervous, and asks me personal questions trying to know me more, but when were in a group, he ignores me and has more conversation with other ppl..

Sounds to me like he's shy. If he keeps blowing you off, then forget him. But if he talks to you when you're alone, that's a good sign. Continue to pursue a friendship with him and let him no you're interested in him.

He's just more comfortable talking to other people in groups, he's probably a little shy when it comes to 1 on 1's, I'm sure that will change with more and more frequency :)
