Why do guys pay attention to me all of a sudden?

When I was in middle school and high school, guys never liked me. No one would even look at me. And guys seemed repulsed by me. It hurt.

And now that I'm older (20), guys on the street will look at me. They nod their head at me. Or I can see from the reflection on the window that they keep turning their heads to stare at me. Even some good looking guys stare. What surprises me I that the type of guys who never liked me in high school pay attention to me now. And high school guys always try to get my attention now.

Well I don't know why this happens. I Haven't lost any weight. I dress better but I'm still same person except I'm less social and I'm more quiet than ever before so I don't see what's so appealing about me.

And now that this is happening, I don't feel attracted to many guys. Its rare when I harbour feelings for someone. I don't want to waste my time with just anyone. I want something serious. I am starting to like this guy who used to be mean to me in high school but I don't know if I should. Maybe he still doesn't like me? he's nice to me now but I don't think he'd be intrested in me anyway. So I'm trying not to like him, even though its quite difficult.

Anyway, why would guys pay attention to me now?

How would I know? You say you do not look any different...sigh...well here is a possibility...only you will know if this might apply...there were girls that were good-looking to me in school...but they were not popular for one reason or another...but all that sh*t changes once out of high school...what I mean to say is this: if you have some looks and do not have a bitchy personality...then high school social status means nothing to guys...you will now become sought-after...one problem though...sometimes a girl's (or guy's) self-image will suffer so much in school that it is not possible to reprogram them to believe that they are actually attractive../:/:/:

Guys were too embarrassed to admit they found me attractive because they were worried about what their friends thought?

I wasn't popular. And I wasn't thin. And at school, most fat chicks like me didn't get hit on. We were overlooked. I had a few friends who had boyfriends but most didnt.

Yes...this is the reality of peer pressure...but you will see..some of the dudes who were popular in high school will literally crash & burn...there were a handful of girls when I was in school that I would have been willing to date..but it would have been difficult for either of us to take on the resulting pushback..after we escape from the "institution" then things change...(:(:(:

yeah that guy I'm kind of interested in was popular. and he still has a lot of friends. but he's a lot nicer now. well, to me. he's still cocky around other girls who show interest in him, so I'm not sure what to do.

anyway, I think you're right.

high school guys seem a lot more preoccupied with obtaining their friends' and peers' approval, then regular guys. I can't speak for all though. I know there are some that still care.

probably filled out real nice, girls in there 20s in my opinion are the hottest hands down... most guys would agree

Well this started since I turned 18. And I get more attention as I age.

I guess you're right. And guys in their 20s also look really hot

You went through puberty, so chances are you do look different. And guys are starting to "grow up" & want more than just some pretty face! They can appreciate your maturity.

i guess I guess I do look a tad older.

and I don't act like the rest of the girls my age. I am a bit more mature. :D

Most of the boys who are interested in me, I'm not interested in. Plus, I have a boyfriend. So, if they approach me, I turn them down. But it's still nice to know guys like me!

well, mainly because I'm not interested in the guys who show interest in me. they're cute and stuff, but I don't feel anything for them. some of them seem like they only want one thing. and I will not provide them with what they want. :D

it would mean a lot more if it was my crush who liked me.

but you're right. I guess it does feel kind of nice to know I'm liked. it helps alittle.

I'm not really interested in most guys my age, my boyfriend is a older, but I'm obviously around more guys that are my age. So being around them, that's usually who is interested!

If you like a certain guy, go for him! Those other guys liking you should be a confidence boost.
