Do you think it's OK for a fat girl to call skinny girls insulting names?

When I was younger, I used to be bullied about being "too thin" and I was taught not to call bigger girls "fat" because it was "mean". I wasn't anorexic or anything, but the doctor prescribed medication for me to increase my appetite.

Anyways, my question it: Do you think it's OK for a fat girl to call skinny girls insulting names? And do you think it's OK for a skinny girl to call the big girl "fat"?

Also, have you ever been teased about your weight or your looks?

As a kid, I was teased because I was extremely skinny. I was among the tallest of all the kids but that didn't matter because I was so skinny. I certainly was taller than all of the girls. As skinny as I was, I was teased by a short fat girl who got a real kick out of bullying tall skinny boys. She bragged to me about how she beat up tall skinny boys. Even though she was short, I knew she wasn't lying because SHE WAS HUGE! The taller and skinnier they were, the bigger kick she got out of beating them. As tall as I was and as skinny as I was, I knew she figured I was "easy prey." Still, I told her I didn't think she could beat me because I stood way taller than she did (the top of her head only rose up to my shoulders). She immediately pushed me and I went crashing so hard against the wall behind me that I knew she would have beaten me easily if I fought her. She was so massive in size compared to my small size that I knew she weighed a whole lot more than I did. I must have been crazy to think I could beat her simply because I stood way taller than she did. Her arms were LIKE BOULDERS while my arms were LIKE TWIGS! I just turned around and went home with my head held down in defeat. I figured I better not pick a fight with her. However, soon afterward, I actually fought her. It was no contest. She won easily. One day at the park, she and I got on opposite ends of a see-saw. There was no see-sawing. How could there be? Even though I towered way over her, she was so much bigger than I was that while we both sat on that see-saw, I was the one who remained way up in the air! Yes indeed. I used to get teased and bullied BECAUSE I WAS SO SKINNY!

If a fat girl calls a skinny girl insulting names, I don't think the skinny girl would be able to do much if anything about it because the fat girl is bigger and stronger than the skinny girl. In fact, if I were a skinny girl, I would be way too scared to call a big girl fat especially if she is very fat while the skinny girl is very skinny. Height doesn't matter, either. If the skinny girl stands a towering 5-foot-11 but weighs only 120 pounds, she doesn't stand a chance against a fat girl who stands only 4-foot-11 but who weighs a massive 200 pounds. Such a short fat girl is way bigger and stronger than such a tall skinny girl. In the ring, the short fat girl would easily overpower, take down, and then pin the tall skinny girl. In fact, such a short fat girl is capable of overpowering, taking down, and then pinning a tall skinny guy way taller than she is (especially if the tall skinny guy is very skinny!).

Its not okay for anyone to judge anyone else for anything. Body type, lifestyle, opinions, race... anything! But that's just what people do most often because of jealousy or some other petty reason instead of just worrying about themselves. The only thing anyone can do (which might sound harsh but I'm just being blunt) is have thicker skin and try your best to not let it get to you (I know easier said than done sometimes) because it never stops. Some people never grow up and if someone really let everything get to them all their life it would break them.

I have been teased for various reasons through my life and times it would get to me but mostly I just don't care. Especially the older I get, I don't care what people think because they don't know me or anything about my life. They are ignorant and making themselves look so foolish for wasting their time and energy hating me for no reason.

I also personally think things like your link are funny. Some comedy is just funny when we can get over the seriousness and laugh at it all.

Short answer:

It's not okay to insult anybody for their body. It's petty and immature.

Long answer:

I'm a fat girl. I've been insulted for being fat, people try to make me feel like crap. However, I don't consider "fat" to be an insult or any different from "big," it's only insulting when people use it that way, because it's generally agreed upon in our culture that being fat is terrible and it's everybody's business :P It's only an insult because people associate it with lazy, disgusting, whatever.

I apply my body positivity to my views on other people's bodies as well, though. I don't think a damn thing about someone if they're skinny. I cringe whenever I hear a larger girl refer to skinny girls as "skinny bitches" or "real women have curves" or "only dogs like bones." That's not a step in the right direction, it's still body-shaming.

it's not okay to insult anyone on their body. I've been at a good weight,curvy but slim,flat stomach and boobs most of my life-so I was praised for my body,but about a month ago,i happened to lose some weight,and everyone started picking on me,saying how much better I looked before,grabbing my collarbones,saying I looked like a skeleton (mind you,i was skinny,but I was still healthy) and those things came from girls who have spent their life being insulted for being fat,girls that have had to go through the same things,only for being fat-i can't understand that,i've never made any comments on others bodies,unless I knew they wanted compliments (if they're trying to lose weight,gain weight,if they say something about them is ugly)

I'll admit, I didn't watch the link because I used to be one of those naturally skinny girls in my teens (and early twenties) and picked on about it. Not necessarily bullied... just picked on. I was taught the same as you. The older I become the more I thought I about whether or not it was appropriate for me to call an overweight girl, fat. They know they're overweight and struggle with it, the same as some, if not most of us "skinny" girls deal/struggle with being naturally thin.

So to answer your question... NO, it's not OK. On both ends. it's disrespectful. Don't call big chicks fat, call em overweight or big girls. Don't call skinny chicks skinny or little, call em petite. It just sounds better lol.

I think fat girls are jealous when they bring skinny girls down. Bullies usually have low self esteem so they make fun of other people in order to feel better. I think you could be thin but people would still like you no matter what, but if you're fat you get lots of hate. Even if no one says it out loud, everyone thinks that being fat is unhealthy and less desirable than being skinny. It's not okay to poke fun of anyone though. I used to be bullied because my nose was too big for my face and that hurt me but that never stopped me from getting called pretty or getting a boyfriend. Chances are more fat girls have a harder time with getting called pretty or getting a boyfriend. So yeah..

It's not ok for anyone to judge someone based on their physical appearance. In my personal opinion, it's immature if you do that.
I got heavily harassed because I was not a size zero by these girls at those sizes by them calling me fat. It was so mean and cruel and I never did anything to these girls. Though it should be noted that I was skinny, just not that skinny.
Now I think it's sad that they are all fat and miserable and I am in a fit body. Karma.

Go ahead and call a fatty a fatty and if they call you anorexic or likewise you can just tell them they're jealous which they most certainly are 95% of the time. The other 5% they're just plain stupid.

It isn’t okay to insult anybody. Before I hit puberty, I was bullied for being the thin, tall girl. Even bigger girls (heavy set) bullies me so bad and said skinny bitches like us make them fell bad.
