Why do girls like to wear their boyfriend's boxers and other articles of clothing?

I have seen girls wear their boyfriends, t-shirts, jackets, slippers, sweats, and even boxers. Why do girls do this?

I have yet to hear of a guy wearing his girlfriends clothing (unless it to be funny), yet I see girls wearing their boyfriend's clothing on a regular basis.

My friend wears her bf's boxers and I asked her why she does that and she said because it is comfortable. Okay, so why does she buy thongs and stuff instead of men's boxers if they're so comfy?

Because it is something that also makes you feel sexy if they belong to a man you think is sexy...

Because if I wear my boyfriend's t-shirts I, somehow, feel closer to him, and every time I remember I am wearing them, I smile :) . I feel sexy when I wear a large t-shirt of him and nothing else when we're together...

Wearing my bf's jacket is good, it smells of him and that warms my heart :) .

Also, it's true, they're comfy - they're larger than our clothes, so they are comfortable clothes!, unlike many girl's clothes, that are just worn because they look good (... don't say that doesn't happen - it does, look at the terrible shoes most women wear like pumps and so (I love them, but try to dance on them for 8 straight hours...) - that's the principle behind girls clothes.They're not comfy, they look good - and that's it.

Of course, when you go out of your house, you want to look good, so you wear girl's clothes. When you're at home watching TV all afternoon and eating popcorns when your hair's a mess, using a man's t-shirt is awesome. When you're alone with your man, stealing his shirt when you go to the bathroom is awesome :) . And wearing his boxers is like wearing comfy shorts ^_^ , without bothering with underwear and without that being something bad x) .

Because they're comfy but they're also his. I love wearing sweatshirts and I own some (obviously) but if my boyfriend has one that he's not wearing I'll grab that instead. Just because it smells like him and has his energies in it. It feels nice, like I'm close to him even when he's not around.

Also I know a lot of guys who think it's cute or sexy so everybody wins.

Guys clothes are really comfy... I have a small collection of men's clothing I've bought because I find it so comfortable. But I don't wear it outside the house, usually. This is probably why girls don't buy their own. Also, they can just borrow a boyfriend's which is more meaningful and usually smells like him.

All these girls opinions are lovely thoughts, but I believe that it goes back to times B. C. With primates and early humans searching for a mate. Smelling could check pheromones, see if they are healthy, and desirable. It is also a stress reliever to smell one who you know loves you. Just like how children are comforted by the scent of their parental figures, or someone they trust. The scent of someone you love and recognize is a comforting thing. Your brain can actually get addicted to the scent, because love wanders around in your brain where addiction is as well. That's why so many people are saddened when they smell something from their past.
