Do "players" get jealous?

Question

Ok, so I'm bored lol! Me and my friend were having a discussion about players, and I said "If a guy who is known as a "player" gets jealous of a girl and the guys she talks to and hangs with then I think he has genuine feelings for her and is considering a relationship" My friend said "No! I disagree! Players can get jealous too, doesn't mean they want a relationship or anything"

Jealousy indicates insecurity, but it also indicates feelings and emotions towards that person, so in my opinion if a guy who sleeps around and is a "player" has jealousy towards a girl then I think he has genuine feelings and wants a relationship, cause why would a player get jealous if they just want to get laid? That is their prime focus, so to me if a player gets jealous then he obviously wants more out of the relationship and he just doesn't want to get laid, but my friend thinks the opposite. So do you agree or disagree? What are your thoughts on this? Pleas ebe detailed, thank you so much! :)

Yes, they get jealous. I work with counseling women in non-commital relationships. There are different kinds of players. One kind remains detached and just wants friends with benefits but is actually anxious if you are overly into them. They don't always mind if you are seeing others etc. Same with women, some women are less possessive and can flirt around while others are flirty but possessive. Ever known a women not into a guy but if he starts looking at another women she will try to get his attention? The non-possessive kinds, you usually will feel a cold shut down energy from them, like they are using you but trying not to connect with you emotionally. There are inbetween types as well.

The jealous kind of player is highly passionate and its about the high he can get from women he emotionally seduces and connects with. Its very confusing to women who assume the guy is inlove etc (some of these guys will say they want your baby and other things). However, on some level there is no commitment, cheating, etc. But don't think making them jealous will get you a commitment. Some of these guys think all women are whores so they use them and have double standard and you will just be proving to them why they shouldn't commit. You can't win!

I've counseled many women in relationships with married men and even these men WILL demand they date no other guy and will state how they "own" them, etc. They can even become stalkerish at time. Its very confusing to the women who mistake it for love.

I call it the harem mentality. Women aren't allowed to leave or stray from the harem and often feel they are competing to be the lead concubine. You recognize them from their talk. They are very cocky, entitled, talk in terms of double standards, etc. You can't get jealous of them or they get mad at you, but they can get jealous of you etc etc. The other guys who aren't jealous more will tell you "hey we are just friends," they don't want you expecting things and are more upfront and honest, though entitled in other ways. They usually less try to romance you as just hooking up for sex in a more cold detached way. But even some of these guys I've seen get jealous with some of my female clients. But of the two types, the passionate charming type is the more jealous, deceptive, & controlling.

They get jealous for a different reason than out of love. Jealousy in all is primarily due to insecurity.
Players have something to prove. They are the way they are for a reason-- probably they got screwed over in the past. Or mommy issues. Regardless, their jealous because its a game, and they aim to win. And winning is what they will do. If they find you are with another dude, and they show signs of jealousy, its because now you have control over the situation. They don't like that. So as women, we can do one of two things, smooth it over or walk the f away. Most will try to smooth it over but stay far back. Let him think he has some hold but keep him dangling like the dog he is... basically spit game back at him...
As they say don't hate the player hate the game.

It's similar to those situations where women reject a guy and then act possessive when he moves on to another girl. There's no emotional connection, but they still want to feel desired by as many women as possible.

A player is a cheater... I.E. they play you.

If you're talking about manwhores, than no. Manwhores don't sleep around because they're looking for that special someone. They do it because they want attention/have sociopathic tendencies/will never connect with another human being in their life beyond a superficial level/don't have self-esteem/don't gaf.

Nobody is a manwhore because they're looking for that special someone and any woman who sleeps with every guy who shows any interest just in case he's the one, is doing it wrong too

1. Players are the foremost to be jealous

2. Jealousy is more a sign of insecurity and selfishness than as popularly perceived as love, feelings and emotions

3. A player is thinking only of him/herself so he/she gets jealous at the very hint of their losing control or hold over their 'property'. It hurts their ego (one of the reasons players are players - unattached, they'd rather hurt than be hurt)

4. For players it's all about control and mind game. Not all players want to lay or get laid :)

People get jealous over things they believe they have rights to. Whether that be ownership, influence, control…
Jealousy is about the power or rights a person believes they have exclusive, privileged access to.

Players play because the game is an exercise in self-reassurance and self-verification. They need to be in control of the people they play for their own sense of self-worth. If they feel they’ve lost control of someone, it often punishes their self-esteem.

In their mind, they may have been bested by an expert challenger. Worse, they may be losing their gift. Or, worst of all, their supply may just have begun to find them empty and uninteresting.

Players may say they respect game, but in the case of male players at least, it’s only a respect for other men. Never for a woman who plays as well as them. We all know that ”player” is reserved for the male game-master, while women who expertly manipulate men are dismissed with more derogatory terms.

The labored cultural stereotype of the player is solidly based in male privilege, raw and unadulterated. And one of the most powerful legacies of monotheistic, patriarchal, traditional religious ideology, is that of the male master being legally jealous over his harem.

He doesn't want more of a relationship...

Players are Alpha males, born winners, and they really don't like to lose. its more a possessive quality even if he's got a dozen women he doesn't want someone taking "his" property also every woman still has value based on how much effort youve put into developing a "relationship" with them to get it to the stage you want it and keep it there as long as possible losing one out of the bullpen would be like getting sacked for a 15 yard loss...

I wouldn't say it's jealousy. I would say it's lack of attention that supposedly he thinks he's entitled to. A player is so used to getting whatever he wants from any girl he wants. When he finally comes across a girl who won't give him what he wants he's going to be somewhat butt hurt and concerned as to why that girl is giving someone else attention and not him. It's a blow to his ego. He can be trying to play 100 women. If he's 99% successful he will continue to focus on the one girl who he didn't manage to snap up.

I think they feel more lust than love, so when they do get jealous, they probably ignore that feeling and move on to another girl. Then again... I've never had a player friend or boyfriend so I don't know what they're like

There is a girl I like and a "player" who was into her to. Him and I were usually cool. When her and I started getting closer, talking more, etc. he suddenly acted colder to me, distant, etc. You could tell there was a huge temperature change between us, initiated by him... Ironically once he saw another girl he went crazy about ("Da** look at the body on her"), and started going after her, he was cool with me again... Retarded huh?

No. Players don't want a relationship you are getting your hopes up. They get jealous because things aren't going there way like they are use to. I would even say it is not jealousy but anger that may look like jealousy.
