Stick to your sleep schedule. Go to bed and get up at the same time every day. Pay attention to what you eat and drink. Don't go to bed too full or too hungry. Use the toilet just before you go to sleep. Be comfortable. All lights off. All electronic gadgets off. All pets out of your bedroom. Stop your alarm clock. Have a nice pillow for your head/neck and another pillow between your knees. Use a good sleeping posture. Sleep on a clean mattress in a clean room. No caffaine in the night. No noise in your bedroom. Adjust your AC to 26 degrees celcius. Pray to God if your are religious.

These are all probably good advice for normal people. For those of us with psychological problems thought the only solution is medication.
Being a bipolar person I know that nothing works except for psychiatric medication.
