So, speaking as a guy I'm really not into the BBW factor. I don't want to have to spend the rest of my life hauling around my 600-lb Life. That being said I do enjoy the figure of a woman who is well filled out, AKA large breasts, and a decent-sized butt. I love her this has more to do with health, reproduction, and basic instinct, more than anything else. For women large breasts mean that the kids will have plenty of nourishment. A large butt for women means that the kids will have plenty of room to grow, and come out with minimal difficulty. that being said I have a general rule when it comes to hooking up with women that their stomach should not extend further out than their breasts.
Here's the thing... women don't "have to" look like anything. But for me to be attracted to her, she does have to look like what I consider to be attractive. I'm not jumping on the bandwagon in terms of being attracted to overweight women. I like what I like.
Agreed, same here. Men who aren't attracted to overweight women shouldn't be ridiculed for their preference either.
That first chick wasn't obese, and let people make their own decisions. There will always be people who don't workout, accept that, but obesity shouldn't be encouraged, that I can agree with.
The reason the media is promoting thin-shaming and fat-reinforcing is to make more people unhealthy for the sake of raking in healthcare revenue and taxing to provide for the unhealthy fat-asses while taxing the hell out of those of us who are healthy.
Curvy =/= fat
I agree we should not glorify obesity and we should not glorify extreme thinness, both are unhealthy and deadly.
However though men have generally always been attracted to curvy women and women with a little bit of fat on them. You can be any size and still be curvy, curvy is just another way of saying hourglass shape. Hourglass shape is healthy as long as you don't starve yourself or overweight and not exercise of exercise too much.
Yes. I agree. It's the picture of the last woman/first picture that are really pushing the "curvy" thing
You are confusing your word usage here.
There is curvy (adjective ) that describes someone who possesses an hourglass figure.
Then there is Curvy ( noun; category label ) which refers to a female body type that is overweight and most of the additional fat is deposited in her butt, hips, and bust.
You may use the adjective form wherever you think it applies. However, you don't get to redefine the meaning of the category label.
The take owner is choosing to agglomerate all women above a certain BMI under the clinical label of obese. That is her choice and I am not arguing with it.
I would like to point out that there is a hierarchy of category labels that refer to women of different levels of obesity. Women use these labels to self identify and men use these labels when seeking these women out.
Curvy is the label applying to the least obese of these overweight women.
The hierarchy that I referred to in my prior post contains in order:
- Curvy
- Chubby
- Plump
- Big Beautiful Woman (BBW)
- Super Big Beautiful Woman (SBBW)
- Super Super Big Beautiful Woman (SSBBW)
I would like to also note that when I met my wife, she self identified in her online profile as a BBW.
Doing so reflected honesty and integrity on her part. She and I dated and married 9 years ago. Since then she has, by her own choice, and with my support, lost 170lbs and is now the healthiest she has been in her adult life. Consequently, she is no longer a BBW. She has become a Curvy.
To put it bluntly, America is fast becoming a country of fat people. Though I am all for the norm not being a stick figure model, I'm also against the norm being an over weight person. Our country, our health care system, will be facing a crisis when all these overweight people become diabetics and have the numerous medical conditions associated with being overweight. It will become a major burned on our economy, not to mention lessen the quality of life for many millions of Americans, due to early development if illnesses due to being overweight. We need to take the bull by the horns, and work strongly to find ways of getting Americans off the butts and eating properly. The lives of many millions of people literally depends on it.
Loving the hypocrisy of the last line.
Classic GaG.
I know, right?
Basically "Hey fatties! Stop thinking you might be sexy and putting is skinny girls down!"
@Anno_Domini
@Anno_Domini Have you ever seen French Connection or Great Plains clothes? Look great on a manikin but not on actual women. Even when I was a lot slimmer they just wouldn't fit me because I have hips and boobs. We aren't cat walk models and most men aren't attracted to the young-boy look no matter how much it's paraded in their faces. Finding the happy medium is what is needed.
No, I haven't, but I can only imagine.
Listen, even though health and weight usually go together, they don't go together.
I know some big people who are healthy (got a physical and everything) and are considered healthy, and some thin people who are not. The opposite is true too.
It's also about body shape. I don't expect a 6'5" (195.58cm) woman to weight 110lbs (49.8952kg). Nor do I expect a broad shaped woman to be light.
I know there is shaming on all sides, but really, those people are cunts. Wherever those people are, move in the opposite direction from them, and be happy whatever your size is.
THE FEMINISTS AND CRAZY LEFTIES, A SCOURGE IN AMERICA IS DOING THIS. Save the whales harpoon a obese chick.. Sorry obese women are lower on my list than homeless people.
Controlling your weight is relatively easy, go have your mouth stitched up for 2 months drink only soups and water after 2 months +- 40kg will be gone.
It is self induced, JUST STOP FILLING YOUR MOUTH WITH MACS AND OTHER CARBOHYDRATES. Sweetened drinks coco cola eg. Once you have regained a reasonable weight you will want to keep it.
No self control in your eating habits, will be no self control in many other parts of your life. GET A LIFE
"Please ladies, it's time to stop bashing each other's bodies and just be the best version of ourselves/out bodies as we can be."
*Bashes curvy women*
You're a hypocrite.
Agree 100%
She needs to have a few kids (no plastic surgery after) and then sing this same tune about heavy girls.
@ObviouslyBored
Haha, yep. The asker sounds bloody ridiculous.
I never bashed curvy women. I used examples of women who are too fat.
Actually, based on the last image there, she's far from obese. She has more of a "pear" shape as opposed to an "apple" shape, which the latter body shape is prone to more obesity related health problems. I see nothing unhealthy about that pic per se. Sure, she could afford to lose weight if she chose, but we have no idea if she's one of those thicker girls who is perfectly healthy or not.
If you're going to make this point, you need to use more accurate pictures. These curvy examples you gave aren't the ones you need to use to illustrate your point.
haha not sure what kind of people you know, but in my society, the last woman is far from curvy. She is just plain over-weight.
The human body was not built to have that much fat on it.
She would have been consider hot in the late 19th century.
Let's refresh your memory, here. You are speaking of obesity. The girl in that last picture is not obese, and neither is the first one. They may have some extra weight, but they're far from obese.
I will also reiterate that considering how she carries her weight, she will be at lower risk for metabolic syndrome as opposed to someone else who carries most of that weight in her midsection, hence the comparison of the apple and pear shape.
Something else to note is that the ladies above can be perfectly healthy- bp, cholesterol, heart, all of that checks out. That's just how they're built.
My whole point is that if you're going to make a point about society condoning OBESITY, use pictures of obese females. These ladies have extra weight, but they're far from obese.
I suggest maybe educating yourself further on the matter before you go stating a "take" on it.
If she went to the doctors, they would tell her that she's obese. It honestly doesn't take too much to be classified as obese but she definitely is clinically obese. Someone her weight couldn't be classed as healthy. She may be okay internally now, but she's still in a higher risk range for numerous health conditions brought on by her weight. Her pictures were very accurate.
Thank you. These women ARE obese. If the first picture or the last picture showed up at the doctor, he would tell them they are at risk.
"use women who are actually obese". Ughm.. I did.
So sick of these fat acceptance idiots. Honestly these people are a detriment to society.
So fat people are not allowed to be happy with themselves? People are different, deal with it.
Whoops, meant to downvote :/
Being happy with yourself and trying to push misinformation to the fat masses are two different things...
fat is OK.. but why fat people so arrogant and secondly trying to say that skinny people are unhealthy and theyre healthy? no fat is NOT healthy.. skinny is..
Nor too fat nor too thin is healthy a balance is healthy
Obesity shouldn't be glorified, there's nothing sexy about a obese person. I have been told by women they don't like skinny men. Obese person should look into the mirror and ask themselves if they look sexy. Obesity carries a lot of health risk and everyone acts like Obesity is the best for girls. But yet go to the doctor's office and they will say to lose weight. Yet a lot of Obese people work in healthcare go figure, they never loose weight. Go figure. Everywhere you go is obese people, a lot of girls and women. Then I get put down for being thin, like there's something wrong with me. I also get putdowns and rejections by girls and women for being short and not tall. Girls or women always find something to put me down and reject me. But they refuse to see their ugly faults that they have. If I was obese I would never here the end of being obese!
I hate it when people call skinny people anorexic. I think a lot of people (not all) just use it as an excuse to bash on them for being who they are. It's good that they can keep a healthy body but now thanks to society they are eating at the minute trying to gain a few so they can be considered "sexy" What some people don't realize is that anorexia is an actually medical diagnosis, not something people can necessarily choose.
I only like skinny and thin athletic girls. No fatsos.
I respect your opinion, but "fatsos" come on you can be a little nicer...
It just pisses me off a little and I get really offended when an overweight girl approaches me.
You get offended? Seriously?
That is just wrong.
Dude, you look like you're pushing 240 yourself...
"Why we should stop Glorifying obesity?"
We have really only begun to glorify women with flesh after a long period of glorifying anorexic teenagers. Look at the female figures in Ruben's and Michelangelo's artwork. Back then, corpulent women were the ideal image of female beauty, but as time passed, the ideal women became smaller and smaller until we finally entered the Twentieth Century and began to see styles from the 20s and 30s, which concealed the female figure so as to make it seem more pubescent, boyish, and skinny. It only got worse as we drew closer to the end of the 20th Century, and now, fashion magazines and all sorts of advertisements are infested with images of extremely thin women.
It's rather a good thing that people are beginning to accept women with more flesh and actual curves.
Obesity was not the correct word to use. I believe curvaceous or voluptuous would have been more appropriate. None of the photographs you provided show anyone who is truly obese.
well, everyone has different opinions. But, I find the women to be obese. I guess it's a matter of taste.
You need to learn the definition of obese. Those women aren't obese.
dont tell me the last picture looks healthy :/ She made a good point, we should not insult girls, never even if they are overweight/ obese, but we dont need to encourage them to be overweight too! because thats what we are doing right now
But you can't help it if that's how you are built. Not everyone is built like a pencil.
Thank you I agree with you @Opinion Owner
Some of us are thick and can't help it. Now there is a difference between fat and thick.
They are in my opinion. As I've said about 50 other times in the comments, people have different ideas about what is considered "fat".
I used examples of women who I personally find to be overweight.
What's the general purpose of this take? We can read 98% of fashion magazines and this shit always comes up. You didn't invent anything new by bringing this up. Nobody should be glorified for being unhealthy but nobody should be fat shaming anybody either.
Tbh, a woman sized 6-12 is both in shape and not too skinny/fat. To me, aiming to be a size 0 is not a goal, it's a death sentence. Unless perhaps you're naturally thin.
I agree with some of your points. I think that as women we need to support healthly images of women. Images of women that are strong, happy and healthly!. Unfortunately, rolls of fat is not. Its time to start celebrating a healthier image.
this started off well but has way too many contridictions and comes off a bit insulting toward fatter women.
also, why not include men in this? a lot of men are unhealthy from over exercising or from being overweight..
hello!
I understand what you're saying, and I would have included men, but men aren't nearly as caddy and vicious when it comes to other men's bodies. It's primarily our gender doing the "she's so fat" "she's too skinny" stuff.
I almost never see comments about male bodies in social media, so I only included women :)
guys do it just as much as women. the only difference is that they don't cry about it.
look at how many guys ask about muscular cs non muscular bodies here everyday.
*muscular vs non muscular
It's not the same in my opinion. I think men's "muscular vs non-muscular" is more simple. With women, we are criticized for our looks in the media way more.
Have you ever seen an old, white male actor be scrutinized for having wrinkles? No. But, If a woman had wrinkles, the comments would be "wow she looks old"
Concerning this issue, men and women are in different ball parks
the media picks different aspects of womens and mens appearance to knit pic at.
