Endometriosis symptoms and information

What is Endometriosis you may wonder. Its a condition that happens when the endometrial lining that a women sheds every month, backs up and goes into the body. This causes your body to see it as a foreign object and attack it. This results in pain, nausea and fever. Over time it can and will do interns damage. Depending on where it ends up it can cause female organ destruction resulting in infertility or digestive issues if near the stomach or bowel areas.

Who can get it? Any female who is menstruating. I personally was 14 when I started to get the extreme pain and knife like shooting pains in the vaginal area. There are a number of symptoms including the pain, nausea, migraines, painful intercourse etc... Not everyone will have all the symptoms or to the same degree, which makes it hard to diagnose. Some women don't even know they have it till they go to have a child. Some doctors will even try to tell you pain and such is normal for a cycle. Mine did but I was not stupid enough to believe that pain so bad I couldn't move and that disrupted my daily life was normal. I talked to people, did my own research (when the birth control pills weren't doing the trick and codine was not helping) . I then took it to my gyn and asked them to do the diagnostic laparoscopy, which is the only way to know for sure you have it. They agreed and at barely 16, they did it and was able to burn off the lesions.

I am sharing my story so women and men alike will not be fooled by what some people think of as normal. Don't let people tell you. Google and do your own research and talk to a doctor if you feel something isn't right. There are of course lots of other female problems including ovarian cysts and the like. I'm almost 30 and I spent a decade on the pill. I didn't like what it was doing emotionally or physically so I stopped. Did more research and changed up my diet along with herbal teas and herbs. I keep it under control and live mostly normally.

Endometriosis is not curable at this time. They still don't know what causes the lining to back up and go into the body. I hope one day it will be but I the meantime, I don't want to see women or young girls go through what I did because there is no one to give them information.
