can you tell if someone is into drinking based on their appearance / image?
I don't know if you really can based on someone's appearance. I know there was this one girl that I knew and she had the most innocent image and appearance yet was a very heavy drinker when out at night and turned out to be really into drinking but her image was very innocent if you were to just like see her when she wasn't drinking , she didn't look like an alcoholic or person with a drinking problem.

Yes, but only if they've been drinking too much for a long time.

They'll often have a red bulbous nose, a beer belly, and liver spots (you can see it on their hands).

That being said, they'll usually have difficulty with the law (DUI's, disorderly conduct, domestic abuse) or financial difficulties before it gets to that point.

Nah, I have a friend in the gym that I never knew drank every night, but since he works out all the time and is in great shape he looks great. Sometimes he smells of alcohol and he told me how he drinks a few almost every night. So I couldnt tell.

Sometimes I can tell if people are heavy drinkers. Sometimes such a person is out of shape, sweating often, has breakouts frequently on the skin, and pot bellies are all signs that you might have a heavy drinker on your hands.

To a degree. A lot of the country looking people around here are into drinking.
