From what I've been told, socializing more helps. However, that's hard to do with social anxiety. I know what you mean because I have it too. I have convince myself to go places where there are crowds. I know another girl who has it, or did have it and she is pretty much better. She gets some anxiety but it's not as severe as it used to be. Her piece of advice to me was to socialize more even though it's hard to do. She said the more you get out with people, the easier it is to fix it. It's hard for me because I am ugly, so I always feel like people are judging me for being ugly. So I don't want to socialize. I'd rather hide my face and come out at night. I only really leave my apartment when I go to work or I go hiking.

I find that the best way to deal with anxiety, of course depending on how severe it is, is to sort of condition yourself to minimize it if that makes sense.
I get really anxious usually at the beginning of the school semester when in new classes. I do have so herbal shit to help me with that, but I didn't want to build a dependence on anything. I also very firmly believe that so long as someone really wants something for themselves, they can usually achieve it. So I started a few classes without taking any herbal stress relievers, and just sat at the back of the class. After 2-3 semesters of that, I'm much more relaxed because I can see that the worst that can happen is in reality nothing at all.
First you need to find out what kind of anxiety is it your dealing with. Social, general, etc. That is something you can do yourself but in all reality its better to go see a shrink or 2. To see what they say. Once you know what your coping with then id research what methods work and what don't. 80% of anxiety disorders can be treated with different coping mechanisms and breathing exercises before meds are even used. A good shrink will guide you through them.
I've delt with anxiety disorder my entire life, even though I've missed some things in life because of them, yet I've gained a lot of things by having them, that most people do not.
Anxiety can only go away over time. Which can be very long
try different coping mechanisms and deep breathing.

I don't wanna come off negative but I have it too and while it has gotten a little better I still have my fits of anger frustration and overall anxiety with large groups. My coping skill is listening to music loudly and slowly I weaned myself to only using one headphone and now if there are only 30 or so people around I don't need them. I'm still working on it but I think it'll always be an issue for me. And I refuse to drug the issue.
I had a nasty bout of panic disorder that I'm getting under control.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, cutting out caffeine, lowering sugar, booze and processed foods in diet, meditation, lots of exercise, affirmations and aromatherapy have all helped me.
But yes, also a low dose of meds.I've had this!!! It's okay to talk to someone about it or get a therapist. It really helps! Believe me! And yes, medication does help! I hated taking mine at first but after about a week, you really see a difference. I hope this helps!!!
Deep breathing exercises, breath deep than let it out
spend quiet time by yourself , thinking of pleasant things
medications if you feel comfortable and your doctor things soby going to a therapist and getting medications
Medication.
