I think it depends entirely on the woman. I saw a woman the other day who was extremely skinny, to the point where it wasn't that nice to see, and she had a thigh gap, whereas some women who are healthy lovely weights don't have thigh gaps. It depends on where you gain and lose weight and all sorts of things :)
They can look beautiful but I think it's dangerous to assume that it's natural for everybody to have them because some people only seem to get them when they're underweight.00 Reply

+1 yI've never had a thigh gap and I will never do. And I don't know why people obsess so much about it, plain stupid. If you have one, great for you! If you don't.. yay, still great for you!
The stuff we keep coming up with... In a few years we'll be judging girls or guys by their number of lines on each hand wtf.21 Reply
532 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I have a thigh gap, and honestly I don't understand the hype. Like you don't benefit from it at all? It's such a trivial thing to care about. Like I wouldn't act any differently if I didn't have a thigh gap. I don't understand why people are so hooked up on it.

Asker+1 yI'm the same haha, people tell me I'm 'lucky' but I don't see it? I'd rather be able to sit things on my lap without them falling through than have a thigh gap.

I only see women making a huge deal out of them.
Im pretty sure guys could care less.00 Reply
This:
"I even came across one blogger who actually recommended that people who want to achieve thigh gap abstain from any leg strengthening exercises, like lunges and squats. She actually named the exercises to avoid. I could think of a million different ways to describe how I feel about this, but I'll just keep it to one word: stupid."25 Reply- +1 y
well it's not bad advice on how to get it though. your legs are muscles and fat so to get some area between them minimizing both is what you should do.
Some girls have wider hips and bone structure to be muscular and have a thigh gap, bot for those that don't it's good advice.
I mean I hate the trend too. It's ridiculous but that blogger is spot on on how to get it - +1 y

I am actually in a state of shock that you can have read that advice and consider it "good". Are you mad? It is effectively recommending people reduce musculature that is needed for everyday tasks, like sitting and standing.. Even if you did consider a thigh gap a worthwhile pursuit the advice is terrible, you should aim to loose fat and become fit and healthy, not weak and fat -"skinny fat" or just pure skinny. It's not healthy and when such people grow old they are likely to suffer serious mobility problems. In countries like china where they have holes in the ground instead of toilets (where they squat!), the elderly remain active far longer than in the west, they use muscles needed for everyday tasks and maintain them through their lifestyle

No one said it was healthy. Did the blogger claim that?
But fact is that we idealize unhealthily skinny women. All VS models are underweight and they're the bigger ones among models.
It's a trend and the post gave advice on how to get that. And in that regard and that regard only it's good advice. Minimize muscle and fat, which is biggest volume around your legs and you're more likely to get a thigh gap.

Asker+1 yI get where you're coming from however not every girl is blessed with a nice big round ass.
Opinion Owner+1 yWhat I'm pointing out is that women with wider hips tend to have more natural thigh gaps. It looks good on them and it fits their natural physiology. Girls that have thinner hips and try to starve themselves to get a thigh gap because it's IN, end up looking disgusting. A girl with thin hips with regular looking legs that touch each other looks good.

+1 yI don't think they look very good :P
You could have a little gap but not a gigantic one.
Target... Sigh
I just hate how social media, ads, and so many people pressure girls and guys to have the "ideal body". Because quite frankly, what's really important is you as a person! :)00 Reply
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI never understood all of the hype about them. One day my friends were all freaking out saying "I wish I had a thigh gap" and started talking about how they needed to lose weight and everything, and I was just like "what are you guys even saying" lol. It's something that comes natural with people's bodies and the way they grow, just like how some people are taller than others.
Personally, I don't find them attractive or repulsive... it's just legs.10 Reply323 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I have never really noticed them. I don't have one and I have never had someone not like me because I didn't have one. I don't know where the obsession came from.

+1 yThigh gaps become critical if you're going to wear short shorts.
So, it's mostly a summertime issue, unless you go for tight jeans even in winter.02 Reply- +1 y
I wouldn't go that far, but they look much better if you're in that category, yes!
It doesn't matter to me because looks aren't everything. you have to have a good personality too otherwise you're just something good to look at and not much more.
00 ReplyFiction is they look beautiful but fact is they have a lose vagina. And most of girls with thigh gaps look anorexic. That's my opinion no thing against it in personal.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yThigh gap is a concept created by women as a measure of how thin their legs are I assume. I've never known a guy to admire a girl because of a gap between her legs. we're checking out your boobs, legs, ass, face not some gap between your legs.
20 ReplyI think the fixation on thigh gaps is stupid.
If you have one, cool. If you don't, thats cool too.10 Reply

Who cares about thigh gaps? Girls worry about weird things.00 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yIt's just a term perpetutated by anorexics and thinspos. I don't care either way, it's hot if she still has 'shape', but it's not if her legs look like little boys.
