Period was late, and it is not normal.. What could be going on?

My period was 4 days late. The flow is a lot lighter than it has ever been. I have had unprotected sex about 3 weeks ago, and I am not on any birth control. I have taken 2 pregnancy tests and both were negative. Sorry if this is TMI but normally I have to use super plus tampons for the first 2 days of my period and I have to change them about every 3 hours. My period just started yesterday the 29th and I used 3 tampons the whole day, and they weren't even full when they were removed. On the first night I normally bleed heavy enough that I have to get up and change it and also wear a pad. When I woke up this morning there was no blood on the pad and barely any on the tampon. Today has been pretty much the same. I have been feeling pretty nauseous and my boobs are more sensitive than normal. Also, I don't normally have bad cramps and yesterday I was cramping so bad I just wanted to cry and midol didn't help. Should I be concerned, and make a doctor's appointment? Anyone have any idea why this could be happening? Thanks in advance and I am sorry if there is TMI in this.

Why did you have unprotected sex? After that I'm not surprised you're worrying about this kind of thing.

My boyfriend and I decided that we don't want to use protection anymore, if it happens, it happens, if it doesn't, then it doesnt. I'm just a little concerned because I have never had an issue with my period like this before. It is way out of the normal for me.

Well no one's going to be able to really give you a good answer other than your doctor, and having extremely painful cramps seems like a good enough reason to go and ask. Though if you're having unprotected sex and your boyfriend is ejaculating inside of you then I'd be expecting something rather soon.

Could be spotting due to pregnancy. Get a blood test.

Go to the doctor, your "period" could have actually been the egg attaching itself to the wall of your uterus. Best to see a professional and see what they say
