i dont really know the difference between dinner and supper? i call it dinner usually. but i chose dinner. i never eat breakfast, ever. im not a big fan of breakfast foods. and for lunch ill usually just have frozen foods, which aren't my favorite. dinner is the only time that i have home cooked meals (if my mom decides to go shopping) so, i chose dinner.

Lunch is at midday, dinner is in the evening, but some people eat light evening meal instead of dinner - supper. Basically, it's a cultural difference, in some countries, lunch is the largest meal of the day, while in other - dinner is the main meal.

i looked into this extensively the other day... depending on what country (or part of the country) you live in, most people either have breakfast, lunch and dinner... or breakfast dinner and supper

in many areas, particularly rural, agricultural areas, they do the breakfast, dinner, supper thing... where dinner is the big, elaborate meal... the rationale being, that working in a field, you need more calories halfway through to carry you through til the end of the day
... and in the evening there isn't much time for a big meal since fieldhands sleep early so they can wake up early

i personally eat breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and supper... most nutritionists these days seem to recommend several very light meals in a day as it's better for your metabolism :)

(i don't actually drink tea anymore (takes too long to brew properly)... but that's the name the Brits use for the meal, so I use it, hehe) ^_^

ooh wow. thats a lot of information! thanks haha. i just eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. for me, dinner and supper are interchangeable. i don't eat breakfast, however. but that's a normal day for me. i live in the united states.

Probably its Lunch during weekdays since it feels great to eat after a hard and arduous morning at office and also an hour's nap after lunch tends to recharge ones bodies. If it is Parties or weddings then i would say its gotta be Dinner !!!

Dinner and supper is the same thing to me. Dinner and supper to me is the final meal of the day. If I say supper I mean the final meal. If I say dinner I mean the final meal. You sound like you're a Southerner differentiating between the two.

Not to mention that where I'm from, it's pretty rare for someone to even say supper. It's always dinner. Every once in a while someone will say supper, but that word is almost non-existent where I'm from even though we do say that word every so often, and that word means the same exact thing as the word dinner. That's the way it is where I'm from!
