Why are people jerks!?

I am over weight yes but I was morbidly obese I lost 175lbs and people in my life are still calling me names and picking on me behind my back how can I make this stop

Be proud of your achievement. Do you realize how incredible this is? I have never struggled with weight, but I know I couldn't have done what you did.

To answer your question, I think that less-fortunate people who don't lead successful lives and rely on others excessively seem to fill their time observing and judging other people. I went through this phase, personally. When my life wasn't going well, I was extremely bitter and angry, so I made myself feel better by ridiculing the achievements of others. Thankfully, I am polite and I didn't express my thoughts out loud. Now, I don't even care how people look or what they do. My only concern is my life and how I present myself.

Please don't take what they say to the heart. Celebrate instead. :D:D:D

Unfortunate ur you can't... it's just something that peole do to make you feel bad and themselves feel better... I have no idea why people are jerks... like I said before I guess it's to make themselves feel better... your gorgeous and don't let anyone make you feel any less than that because they're not forth your time

The sad truth is for whatever reason you make them feel uncomfortable about themselves and so in order to feel better about themselves they need to attack you ad put you down. The wife of President Franklin D. Roosevelt First lady Elanor Roosevelt has a wonderful quote that she used as reply to the in her day media mean portrayals of her in editorial cartoons. Mrs. Roosevelt was asked how she felt being made fun of for her looks. She replied with this gem of a thought.

"Nobody can make you feel inferior without your permission"

They won't stop because they are dicks. You are already in your 30s and I assume your "friends" are the same age. This would be excusable if they were say in their early teens, but as grown adults, to make hurtful comments towards a friend like that should not be tolerated. Basically confront them and tell them straight up how it makes you feel, and tell them to stop. If they don't stop, then stop being their friend.

These people are not my friends but rather co workers I've been to hr and nothing changes I've worked extremely hard to better myself. I don't flaunt that I have lost this weight in their faces I don't ever bring it up in conversation but I don't really want to give up a job I love that I've done for ten years because people are harassing. Me but i can't take anymore of it

Same thing imo. You'll have to confront them. It's not going to be easy and can backfire too, but you don't really have another option. If you do nothing, nothing will change.

I don't think they'll stop teasing you until you become thick (hourglass shape) at least. Could make a habit of squatting and night jogs to help speed up weight loss. Personally I find you fine! People can be dicks sometimes.

Even if you had never been overweight, they would still find something to call you, and talk about you behind your back. That is just their nature. All you can really do is either develop thicker skin so it doesn't bother you, or cut them out of your life.
