Did the weight stay off?
Has the SlimFast diet ever worked for you?
Did the weight stay off?
I've not tried that one in particular, but based on how the body works dieting is ridicolous.
You see, whenever the body senses a dramatic drop in nutrition income (ie when you start dating) it starts to adapt. The metabolism should (at least on paper) slow down somewhat, and all excessive energy should be stored as fat. Your body is simply preparing for harder times. The result is that you're not really going down in weight.
And here comes the biggest catch. When you STOP dieting and start to ear normal, you body needs time to adapt again. This means that for some time it will still be adapted to harder times. The result is that you will gain a lot of fat, FAST thus gaining at least a considerable portion of what you might've lost during the dieting.
This is also why eating proper and healthy (does not make your body prepare for hard times, and ensure you get what you need to survive) while excercising (especially cardio and intervals/tabata is good fat burn) regularly helps. Because you burn more fat, while maintaining your body properly.
You could have a more varied diet just by cutting down on your portions and picking your meals (consisting of normal food) more carefully.
Unless you're planning on drinking Slimfast forever, you'll need a permanent change to your diet and lifestyle anyway, so watching your calories and exercising is a better option.
that is crazy! slimfast is like you drink 1 can per meal right? so cray! major calorie loss right there.
I saw a can before, I think it was only like 100-150 calories for 1 can lol.
its definitely not healthy though because you're depriving yourself of energy your body needs to function throughout the day. it may offer some vitamins and minerals and some nutrients but think about it, you're only getting like 150 calories worth of those nutrients. its not enough to cover what you need. people who deprive themselves of calories to lose weight are basically decomposing themselves to reach a lesser form of survival, a body that requires less in order to sustain itself.
natural is better :D well the protein shakes aren't natural but that part I don't give a fudge! lol.
What helps is the low carb diet! Low carb and low sugar. I've seen it work
Working out and eating properly does the trick.
