Ways to motivate yourself to work out and have fun with it?

I've been dieting time and time again.. I can never stick to it. I always have a commitment to losing more weight, but once I start, I always fail it. I always end up giving up within a weeks time. How can I stick to it and stay motivated? Also, I always see people running down the roads in the morning. How do people stay motivated to run all the time, or even exercise? How do you make it fun to make you want to keep going? Thank you for the responses :)
