Can you get food poisoning from restuarant seafood gumbo?

Last Saturday I got some seafood gumbo from a restaurant at the end of the night. I got it to go and it tasted like I got the last bit that had been sitting out all day. Or on the hot plate, I'm not sure what they do to it throughout the day. I'm assuming they make a big batch that they serve throughout the day. Anyways, I got it and it was warm, not really hot and the shrimp were kind of tough and within a few minutes of me eating it my stomach got all upset and tight feeling. I've had diarreah and have barely been able to eat anything until yesterday and it's not until today that my stomach is finally relaxing and feeling better. What do you think happened?

It's almost impossible if not impossible to get food poisoning from a restaurant. They take a lot of precautions to make sure that the food is prepared well. You are 100 - 600x more likely to get food poisoning from eating at home.

Yes, you can get food poisoning from anywhere. Especially restaurants.

over cooked food taste gross. it doesn't make you sick, unless it's also old food.
