Are muscle imbalances serious?
could this cause serious problems?
No. That's not the type of muscle imbalance that puts you at risk for injury. It's when opposing muscles are imbalanced, it creates a tightening effect that can create an injury. E. g. If you had really strong hamstrings, but weak quads, it can mess up your knee's tracking when you bend and extend and cause serious pain-- the most common cause of Runner's Knee is tight hamstrings coupled with weak quads.
Most guys have bigger biceps on their dominate hand. It's extremely common and benign.
Hypertrophy is used to describe the condition when your myocytes (muscle cells) increase in size to adapt to excessive stress and load. Luckily it is reversible. The reason why one arm may be larger than the other is because you might be working out one arm a bit more strenuously than the other. However, I still recommend seeing a doctor just in case you feel like it's abnormal.
I understand why it has happened and what it is. I just want to know if it will cause health problems
Go see a doctor, just in case
