Why is there so much hate against overweight girls?

It's really sad to see how some guys will completely bash them and treat them as if they're subhuman, just because they don't find fat women attractive.

Dont think its just cause girls but yeah, both genders for sure. Personally at times to me it can kinda seem like an insecurity with guys when they bash a girl this way. Its like they are even afraid to achknowledge it is a girl and yeah, treat them as sub-human. One thing I certainly noticed in life on and it is almost always the same reason, is that when people tend to lash out for no good reason it comes from self denial in one way or form. Hell, I wouldn't be suprised if many of these guys turned out to be attracted to these overweight girls and thats why they need to treat them as such cause they are afraid to admit to themselves their own attraction. Much like many gay people sadly treat other gays inhuman cause they haven't come to terms with their own sexuality. And it is often these types that would mistreat others the greatest, cause its a reminder of reality they dont want to see or achknowledge. So its easier to just distance yourself completely from it all and yeah not even treat them as human beings anymore. In either case its pretty retarted, people need to learn to become more accepting.

You'll get insensitive and judgmental people everywhere, if they're not bashing fat women, they're bashing black women, divorced women, women over 50 and it the list is pretty much endless.

I'm not gonna lie, I am not attracted to overweight women, but I treat all people I meet with a basic level of respect and courtesy. If you are meeting guys that treat you negatively due to your weight then you are unfortunately dealing with assholes.

I agree it is so strange. I see it a lot on this site. If you are not attracted to someone, you say she/he is not my type and you move on. And state what you tend to prefer and people will get your point. But people love to break others down and be as condescending or as mean as possible:(

Yeah, I don't agree with all the hate. I think it's important to accept people of all size. And yes, guys always have their preferences. It doesn't help that the media glorifies thin women. There are those select few men who see all women as beautiful, but... those are rare.

In my mind, overweight girls just tend to be ultra insecure, needy because they genuinely feel the lack of attention, care. By the way, physical attraction is still the 1st line of an interaction. Would you want to date an obese guy, looking unhealthy with messy cloths on?

Well hating just because they are overweight is wrong but if a guy does not feel attracted to her, that is not wrong or hating.

Well it's sort of a two parter:

- why are unattractive women treated poorly
- why are all fat women considered unattractive.

The latter is just how it is, to a large extent. It's not driven by media. Yes, in wealthier countries thinness is preferred while overweight is associated with unhealthy, while in countries where lack of food is an issue, plumpness is valued more. This isn't because of media brainwashing, this is preferring 'healthy' even if it's over done.

The former?

While we have tried to open up gender roles in society, lets quickly review what used to be expected:
Women
1) be pretty
2) be sexually chaste or faithful to husband
3) be nurturing

Men
1) be able to provide
2) be physically brave when required
3) be emotionally tough

While we've done a fair bit in terms of allowing things that weren't allowed before, failure to live up to any of the above still brings ridicule and societal condemnation.

OP, do you mean obese women in particular? They do get their share of negative and abusive reactions from others:( Being heavy must be miserable and maybe they've been trying unsuccessfully their whole lives to lose weight. In the eyes of others, they are just taking more than their share of food and have no self control. You never know what someone's story is, however.

Well, I'm not excusing it, but I am explaining it. If you are younger than an adult, you behave like a kid. This will happen until you are in your late 20s. Why? Because when you get into your late 20s, you begin to realize that you are aging and becoming ever less-perfect physically than you were 10 years earlier. At that time, you become mature as your sense of empathy kicks in. Then, the only people who are truly hostile to overweight women are homosexual French women's clothing designers.

Its unfortunate that most men value woman based on what they look like and if they aren't hot, they are considered to be of no value. Even on wall-street, intelligent and educated girls who don't dress in attractive clothing are denied jobs. My cousin works on wall street and she knows of girls who were denied jobs cause they wore semi-good looking clothes rather than super good looking clothes to their job interviews. People need to stop contributing to this type of thinking though.

That's not true I see guys get laughted at by girls for being over weight and we brush right past them like they r nothing and skinny girls get laughted at to we get called anorexic and chubby curvy girls laugh at skinny girls saying to eat a burger to put it blunt every ones looking for something to hate no one is perfect and we r never going to be happy with the way we look as we are a ways trying to fix something

The world is mixed with people with differnt personalities. Just thought I'd say that most normal men don't. There is always a few mean men. The other problem that you seem not to touch on (and i say this not to provoke anything) is that women do it the same as men do. I have no qualms with bigger women and the people i associate myself with have mone either.

Fat women are literally wastes of genes. Women have a low bar set to be a decent woman--if a woman keeps her hair longish and takes care of it, stays in decent shape, and dresses okay, she will get male attention, likely be a mother one day, be a wife for some guy who will be happy for her.

Fat women simply fail at life.
