It's not that we are "repulsed"- because quite frankly, most guys will turn to the fat girl for advice on hooking up with their attractive friend.
The fact of the matter is that "Big women" do not get the same opportunity to create attraction with a man; which is the same as skinny men towards women, they don't get the opportunity to create attraction.
- Granted, not everyone is looking for "skin-deep" appearance, but it seems to be a social norm on the FIRST APPROACH only. After the first impression, anything goes- so it could be physical attraction or emotional attraction, the scale can "tip" either way.
Skinny men are considered to be weak and helpless. I can tell you right now that I've won most of the fights against bigger guys- so it's not about the physical aspect of fighting, but the emotional aspect. Larger men seem more prone to be protective because of their height and broad appearance- which makes women feel protected.
- Similarly, "attractive women" are smaller and petite (aka "fun sized") which lures in the men because of the "cognitive" thoughts about how it would be with a woman. Smaller woman = we appear larger and more "protective".
**Note** there are other things that come into play, like skin-deep appearance and other things, which when combined form "attraction" to that individual. I am only speaking about the emotional backbone to that first impression.
So a skinny guy with a confident personality would have a better shot at approaching woman, than a "weak minded" skinny guy- in the same situation.

They are pretty much the equivalent thing. The difference is that when guys say fat girls are gross, girls say that's being unfair. When guys say it's similarly unfair for girls to bypass skinny guys, girls say "oh, get over your fragile male ego".
I don't think so at all. It just depends on different people's tastes and what they're attracted to. I personally prefer leaner, tall guys; my boyfriend is tall and skinny and I find him extremely attractive! Some girls also may be more independent and take on the dominant role, and might not want to need someone's protection.
It just depends on the woman. I like my men a little taller than me and skinny but not weak. Like they have to have some muscle not just skin. I have dated somebody that is "fat". Not extremely fat though. That is gross.
i agree. when I see a guy whose legs are as thin as my arms, his shoulders as broad as mine and he's thin enough to fit into girls' skinny jeans, it's a real turn off.

Yes definitely. I want a guy that's bigger than me, it makes me feel more protected
a girl that's very skinny like you are would probably find you attractive. I'm attracted to guys that are like me; skinny and short. taller girls are attracted to taller guys. a girl that has a body like you will feel comfortable with you.
