What's the main reason for a girl to stop growing at such an early age?

Ok, so I stopped growing at age 16 but I had reached 5'7. I guess that's not so bad and it seems the right age.

However, I have a bunch of female friends that stopped growing at ages 11-13 and all of them are shorter, the shortest one being 4'11. Two of them actually come from tall parents and grandparents.

in my opinion, an 11-13 year-old girl is still a child. Plus, if I were going to Netherlands, even the women are more taller and don't stop growing at such a young age.

I often read that a girl generally stops growing between ages 16-18 but I've been seeing that many girls in my school stopped much earlier than that.

Everyone starts growing at a different age. If you start your growth spurt at 11-12, you'll probably be mostly done by 13 aside from a cm or two.

Girls from more recent generations generally start earlier than before because of how many hormones there are in food nowadays. If the girl eats a lot of food that is high in fat, which is related to higher estrogen levels, she'll start puberty and growing sooner. People in North America tend ot eat less healthy than most in Europe; more fast food, things that are quicker and easier to make. Which often translates to higher fat content.

yeah I kind of suspect it's the junk food altering the hormones because one of my friends coming from tall parents and grandparents, when she was a toddler, a doctor calculated she should be 5'9 and seemed tall when she was in 4th grade but she suddenly stopped at 5'3 and never grew at all.

yeah for sure it's a combination of diet, lifestyle changes (most American children grow up sitting in front of the TV or computer) as well as genetics.

I didn't know that lots of girls in the Netherlands were tall. I'm going to have to visit there and see all those beautiful tall women.

the main reason? hormones, hormones are the main reason. early end of puberty.

yeah too early in my opinion. Even 5'7, I don't consider that to be tall to be honest, but just barely going on the tall side.
The women in Netherlands, now they are tall. I wonder if everyone was suppose to be taller at some point but somehow stopped due to something alterning in the hormones like bad diet.
