no, we will never permanently cure diseases (and by extent, STDs).

We may cure the ones we have now. But since we can't cure diseases until AFTER they have happened and been noticed, there will likely always be some new mutation or new disease we can't cure.

Also, multiresistant diseases ARE a thing, you know. And they are actually pretty damn common

because they are partially hiv resistant? Seriously, some people are 100% resistant to HIV. And based on what makes said people resistant, we can also likely develop a vaccine. May not be able to treat already infected though.

Many people have already been cured from HIV/AIDS, if you get the virus nowadays it's not the end of the world, medicine has advanced enough to keep you alive even if you get the virus, overtime the medication and living a really healthy lifestyle will help you reach "undetectable "

At some point curable STDs will no longer be curable due to antibiotic resistance evolution by bacteria. Gonorrhea is close to this status now. I wish this was not the case though. Improper use of antibiotics is a big reason why.

I can't believe they found a cure for herpes. Some, such as syphillis is able to be cured because it bacteria! Bacteria can be killed. AIDS is not because it's a virus! Viruses are not able to be cured!

You cannot cure a virus. From the looks of it it'll just never happen since viruses aren't even really very "alive". You can program the buggers though.

No but a special medication can be created, that makes that virus dormant and your immune system recognize that virus so it doesn't act again nor spreads, similar to why someone usually doesn't get chickenpox twice.
