Personally, I think its pathetic that this virus has existed for over 40 years, and they still have no cure. Sounds like they have meds that keep it at bay so someone can live normally. I still wonder if the average Joe can afford the meds. I bet it's expensive. Opinions?

HIV is a constantly mutating retrovirus; it works by essentially turning the body's immune system against it. It makes complete biological sense that there's no cure for it; a little knowledge of virology would tell you that.
Now, if you want to argue that the corruption of the medical industry means they'd seek for an incredibly complex and expensive drug cocktail to serve as a counterattack rather than a miracle cure, you'll get no argument from me, but in this case, it makes perfect sense that no cure has been found.
Becoming a doctor isn't like becoming a lawyer; training a lawyer just takes books and lectures, and doesn't cost a small fortune. The challenge to becoming a lawyer is the bar; the challenge to becoming a doctor is the med school entrance exams. If you can pass those, you can pass the boards. You do not become a doctor just for the money; you need a real desire to help and heal people, or you're going to burn out. Even if the companies developing and marketing medical treatments and devices are lead by greedy bastards motivated by lust for wealth and power (many are), the doctors who actually interact with patients and know them personally are a different story.
It's very tempting to look upon evil and see everyone who doesn't resist it as enabling it, but that's making the same mistake, in reverse. Look at the insanity around Covid.
They've had a cure for years. I recall hearing about a cure at least 20 years ago. I also seem to recall them having the cure when the disease first came out but they refused to give it out.
The government pays a ton of money to the pharmacy companies for research. Probably why. They find a cure and the funding stops
Obviously more complicated than that though
I still doubt the meds are something you can buy with a $25 copay
Exactly. As well as another thing or two.
It’s a money game. Cures equal loss of revenue for these people who are profit from it. Why doesn’t Magic Johnson have aids anymore?
I don't think he was ever cured, just has the money to pay for expensive medicine nobody else can afford.
Maybe. Regardless it’s about money.
