Do Carmex products cause lips to darken?

Some people say they use it to darken their lips because it contains menthol but some people say it prevents lips from darkening. I don't want my lips to darken so I just want a straight answer. I have the Carmex Original Tube and the Cherry Flavored SPF 15 Tube.

It's not supposed to darken bc of the sunscreen in it. I bet the people that said that are the ones that smoke the tweeds or hit the hookah pipes the hardest lol. My friend's sister uses it a bunch and her lips are the same pink.

I've never noticed a color change but I stopped using carmax because I feel like it's just vasline ridiculously overpriced.
