+1 y10 seconds passes like nothing, but I would try it. Granted, I've always been a better long distance runner than short distance, but it is good to vary up routines.
It reminds me a bit of the routine my old cross country coach made us do on occasion. It was 45-60 seconds of rest and then a full out 400m for like 10 times or so. It was brutal.
It was made worse that he took times for each 400 so if we started to slow down a lot he would notice 😱11 Reply- +1 y
Hahaha yeah that's brutal man! But gotta push it! Sprinting makes you gain muscle too, unlike long distance which burns it :/

+1 yRunning in intervals is great cardio. I used to do this every week when I was a runner (athletics). I would definitely recommend it, especially if you want to increase your stamina in a short period of time. By doing this you will get fast results! :)

+1 ythat's part of HIIT which is high intensity interval training. it's supposed to be really good for your metabolism. i do that sometimes, not quite as intense as him because i do a longer period of time and i do it on a treadmill and don't want to not be able to slow it down fast enough and fly off the back lol

haha I see what you mean! Almost happened to me once... :/ Embarrassing if it happens hahah. But if you want to try it like this guy maybe run outside?
I think i'd be annoyed, I only want myself to control the way I'm running

It'd be shorter than long distance with better results! :)

Do whatever you're most comfortable! :)

Oh yeah I see! And you don't find it boring? I use the treadmills at the gym on high speed, it's embarrassing because I make a racket -_-
- +1 y
Hahah I am a fool xDD It is silly lol. You should defo try it! I wish I could be like that too, have self motivation in a world of my own, but I'm an "exhibitionist" I lose motivation running where there is no one about.. haha.

+1 yWe did something like this the other day in track and it was killer! We had longer sprinting times and walking. Sometimes we had to jog instead of walk though. Either way it sucked because I can do a few sprints or a continuous run but doing sprints over and over is above my skillz lol
12 Reply- +1 y
Yeah I know it can be a pain and you just feel like giving up. But the more you practice the better you'll adapt/get stronger!
- +1 y
Oh yeah, we had to do if for like 10 min and it was so cold! I was like let's not do this haha. I think we are going to do it once a week in practice now too
4 min? Considering world record for 1500m is just under 3.5 min this guy probably didn't even come close to running a mile.
Gotta step it up. He was no where near sprinting.11 Reply- +1 y
I see it, but I sprint anyways until I can't handle anymore. Vomited last session 3 times. SO intense.
+1 yAnything involving running is a no. But that would probably hold my attention better and I also prefer sprinting. But still... pass.

Awwhh :( Haha, I find it way more exciting than long distance, plus it's perfect for football!
- +1 y
True. I do interval running at the gym in 1 minute segments but it's still sooooooo boring!
- +1 y
Yeah it's super booring! That's why I just do 100m sprinting instead
Interval training? That's how I usually exercise.. .. ..

Yeah similar to that!

You should defo! Lose that fat so your muscles show more cut!
4 minutes is nothing... Is that suppose to even be a workout?
15 Reply- +1 y
You can increase the time too obviously to suit your ability. Bearing in mind it's full on sprinting!
- +1 y
Yeah whatever, I've done sprints. I prefer to do distance though. I grew up playing soccer, hockey, bball, and wrestling... Sprints to a line and back are nothing new to me. :D I still think long distance endurance is a better goal for me personally. I can full out sprint for more than 4 minutes though.
- +1 y
Haha, but full on sprinting 4 mins... 100m sprinting non stop 4 mins!
- +1 y
Well my treadmill only goes to 12 mph so I guess it's technically not full out sprints. Some people sprint close to 16 mph but only for like 15 second bursts. So the best sprint I could do on my treadmill would be a 5 minute mile which is doable with training non stop. Some people run mile after mile at that speed. I currently can't pace that fast, but it's humanly possible.
+1 yGoing hard and instense is proven to get better results than being consistent.
11 Reply- +1 y
I agree! That's why I've started going intense!
+1 yIts another form of HIIT so i do it all the time
what he is doing is a 25sec x 10sec11 Reply- +1 y
Yeah it's 25 full on running, then 10 sec rest intervals. Hard but it'll improve stamina and ability.
