Can't touch my toes?

I can't touch ny toes. I i try for a really long time and endure incredible painful pain i can but the next day i can barely go beneath my knees and a muscle (i think) at the back of my thigh straigh down to my ankle is super stiff. It pains like crap. How do i learn to touch my toes?

Former dancer of 12 years here. And I'm here to tell you that gaining flexibility takes time and persistence. My biggest tip would be to make sure you are completely warmed up before you attempt to stretch anything. If you try to do it while your muscles/tendons/ligaments/etc are cold, you put yourself at risk for tearing something.

I recommend sitting with your legs straight out in front of you, and then leaning forward as much as you can. Do this with your feet both flexed (pulling them back toward you) and pointed. This will give your hamstrings a great stretch. Hold it down for as long as you can, stop, and then repeat. And of course, you can do that just standing too. Bend over, and let your body relax and dangle as low as you can until you feel it in the back of your legs. A couple times per day would be sufficient. But you have to be diligent, because flexibility is lost much faster than it is gained. And again, always warm up before you stretch. Like after a cardio workout, or something. I have long legs so I feel you haha I also get that pain if I haven't stretched in a while, but just keep stretching and you'll get there eventually 👍

Stretching is not at all like flexing. It's not about forcing it's about submitting to the limits of your body. Sure, you want to "push" yourself but you need to do so comfortably. Otherwise, you risk overstretching and possibly pulling a muscle.
Don't freak out, you probably just stretched it more than it's used to and the pain is your body telling you that wasn't good. Give it time, massage it, ice it, then next time don't stretch so hard.

You have to keep trying it. And you stretch your legs on the floor and keep pushing your hands back and forth towards your toes. This might help. You need to do at least a week

Sit in straddle and hug the floor do this often and Ull touch ur toes and yes I can touch my toes
