Honestly, the worst part was hearing the woman before me just randomly lashing out at men, for no good reason. Like, "I hope all the men I see have to get their dicks squashed in one of those, now" -- and she definitely said it in a way that was unmistakably mean-spirited, too. It was NOT a joke.

I mean, okay, I get it, it's a stressful situation -- and, it could very well be more stressful for some than for others, for reasons we couldn't possibly anticipate (as in the case of the question asker here, for instance).

Still, though, using it as a springboard to bitch and moan about ALL men -- as though literally every one of them had personally done you wrong -- is just not classy at all.

After my cousin died of advanced prostate cancer I cry when people say stuff like that. As unpleasant as it may be we at least have the means to detect BC early. Had their been a male equivalent of a mammogram he might still be alive :'(

I dunno, though, I think 100 percent of men actually have prostate cancer after age 55 or 60 or something -- it's just a matter of whether that gets 'em before something else does.

I mean, there's definitely no equivalent of a mastectomy, that's for sure. (there's no corresponding piece of the anatomy that can be removed, I mean)

Oh gotchya, yeah, the men in my family weren't nearly as hurt by their prostectomies.

ah, I don't even remember whether I was actually aware that prostatectomy was actually a thing. eek.

I'm assuming that would render a guy infertile, at the very least.

I used to live as a man. Now I'm more real. Today is my second annual mammogram. I'll grin and bear it. To me it's better than a blood test.

Well, none of it sounds particularly unpleasant but it's all short-term except for the anticipation of the results. I think that that'd affect me more.

Yeah, after seeing my beautiful and lovely sister go through cancer, I was so scared that I cried through the whole procedure when I got my first one done. Yeah it was very uncomfortable and I was a bit uneasy about having a stranger handling my breasts (I've been *physically* sexually harassed about them before.) But even if they had some pervy weirdo squeeze my boobs in a vice grip till they were black and blue, I'd still be more worried about the results.
