Will I get prettier after puberty?

I'm turning 15 and my face is quite round, my cheeks especially (even though my body is fairly thin). I get breakouts a lot as well and the proportion of my face and body doesn't seem right. I mean to start with, I have absolutely NO confidence whatsoever, which i'm trying my hardest to change. My family constantly tells me i'm beautiful, and so do random strangers, my friends like to get me on their snapchat and ask me to take photoshoots with them a bunch (even though I refuse). But for me, I feel like a facial and mascara won't help? I'm not a fixer upper, i'm a complete disaster and I need to be demolished and redone from scratch. I just need help, starting with my confidence. But I wish there was a light at the end of the tunnel - using your experience and any data, do people really blossom at some point in puberty? (I only got my period a year ago).

At 15 hormones are crazy! When you get a bit older and the hormones level out a little more, so will your view of yourself. Your body will change when going through puberty, and that will likely include your face shape, try not to stress too much about it. Acne comes with the territory of being a teenager for some, that will fade too. For some people, drinking water can help clear up the skin. It sounds like your family and friends are good for confidence, but I understand if it doesn't change your view of you. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, don't worry.

Thank you, I feel like the compliments make me think that I have to withhold this standard though. I think confidence starts with yourself and only I can really change it, i'll work on that before I worry about physical traits, thank you!

I'm sure yuo are pretty already and you are just being too self-critical but yes you will. By the time you are 18-20 you will refine your style a bit more and grow into all your facial features and hopefully become more confident! Just learn to trust the people who tell you that you are beautiful!

I really try, but its hard to know if its a compliment out of kindness or a compliment from the heart. Thank you though, I am excited for that time, but i'm not going to sit around waiting for it.

Honey, I can't tell you you're beautiful. Because you have to think it, beauty starts by the way we see ourselves. Taylor Swift think she is ugly but she is gorgeous. You see what I mean? I'm sure you are a beautiful girl. Be confident, and maybe love will make you see who you truly are.

*shrug* that just depends on what people say is "pretty" have a look at some old pictures of your parents, you're going to end up looking like one of them eventually so you can see for yourself. As for puberty some are early, some are late but you won't miss it. That's certain. It is what it is, don't mean nothin'

my dad was super handsome and was an actor (though not famous) and my birth mom was kinda pretty.. I don't know. But I feel like I don't look like them much. What was your experience?

Well I grew up mostly lookin' like my dad. Most of his features are mine. When I was growin' up that's what people always said "you look like your dad" I didn't really take anythin' from my mum

When it comes to puberty I think I started around the middle point, everyone points out that I got a deep voice I remember my friend started it early (everyone was crowdin' around listening to his voice). Some people I seen start early. But for some it takes longer to finish. I seen some guys around not much facial hair, high pitched voice around 17 years old

The fact that even random strangers tell you that you are beautiful is really proof that you are attractive. You just have a thing about thinking you are not pretty. You may get a bit better looking, but not so much because you are already good looking.

well i have memories of people telling me but one recent experience was when I went to get my eyebrows threaded and the woman stared at me before I even said more than one word to her and said "wow you're very beautiful" or a few years ago this guy asked me out on like the 4th day of school even though we never had a conversation and that lasted like 6-7 months so he obviously chose me for my looks. Psht I don't know, my mind works in weird ways and there may be proof but I refuse to believe even though i'm dying to have confidence and not give a shit what people think of me.

I believe that you look fine, if not great. But there is nothing I can do to prove it to you. You really need to work on your confidence. :-)

You could be a late bloomer, and there's nothing wrong with that! You should try to stay optimistic about yourself and try not to bring yourself down. That's very unhealthy and you're only making it harder on yourself. Let puberty take its toll on you and be patient! I'm sure you'll grow up to be a gorgeous girl, and like Twolips said, you could be pretty already but you don't even realize it yet!

I will honestly try but lit all the girls at my school are gorgeous and some even look 18 even though they're about 15 like me. You're probably right - that I am a late bloomer. I'll just be patient and not sit around waiting to get prettier.

Give it time, right now you are in the awkward faze. You will grow out of that. Your face will clear up you'll grow into your body and you'll feel more confident about yourself.

I have but all they do is say "you're beautiful, I can't see why you don't think so" and I don't like to bring it up often as I seem vain if I do so. I feel like some more attention from guys and maybe a tiny change in my appearance might be small steps to helping my confidence and confidence definitely boosts appearance for yourself and others. I don't know, should I see a therapist? I get social anxiety and sometimes don't even want to leave the house as a result of feeling so damn ugly.
