Help me please?

I actually can't do a forward roll, I used to be able to do it but I hurt my neck and now I'm really scared to do a forward roll but in gymnastics we had to do a forward roll and I got told of SOOOO much for not being able to do it and to make it even worse we had to do it over a equipment a bit like a really high chair with beam like steps on it and we had to do a roll on that by going down face first by holding the beam and doing a roll but I couldn't do it so my teacher pushed my body down and my head hit the bench and I sort of hurt my neck ( all my teacher said was that I need to work harder sad life not even a sorry)

I really want to do martial arts, I always have but I can't even do a forward roll which they use a lot so can you please help me to how I can do a forward roll and if my fear is stupid?
