Have you noticed that men are usually taller than women?

Is it just me? Maybe it is. I notice that on AVERAGE, men are taller than women. I see many many more men that are 6'0 or taller than women. I also notice I see many many more women under 5'5 than men under 5'5, and so on. Why is this? Do you think this is true?

@Josht11 Correct 5'10" is average. When I said "women like taller men" I meant men who were taller than themselves, not men who were taller than other men. I find that women desire a man who has a 4" or 5" height difference from her not that she consistenly prefers a taller man to another man. Johnny Depp is 5'8", George Clooney is 5'9", Vin Diesel is 5'10", Hugh Jackman is 6'1", and David Beckham, the sexiest man alive for 2016, is 6'0". These are all pretty close to average height considering 2/3 of men are between 5'7" and 6'0". It's not comparable to mens preference for skinny women, because as I started, women are not usually skinny, but men are usually tall.

Yes but it's a woman's choice to be a pig I'm only 5'4 I eat healthily and go to the gym but I didn't choose my height because it's definitely not an attractive quality.

@Josht11 You can't assume all fat (especially what is considered fat) women are pigs because it just isn't true. In general it's very natural for womens bodies to "have curves" because we bear children and the body fat is an important evolutionary development to ensure new fetuses get essential nutrients for growth. Basically, a womans body will try to have fat no matter what you feed it, no matter how you exercise it. A woman who exercises and eats well is generally considered chubby or fat.

Men don't like skinny women because its normal or healthy, they like it because that's what they're trained to be interested in.

As far as variance goes, some men will have a real preference for thin women, and some women will also have a preference for short guys.

Um this is true pretty much everywhere... Like literally any medical paper on height will report that on average men are taller. Like the average women is 5'5" and the average man is 5'10".

Yes, men are taller than women in average. I have also seen more women under 5'5" than I have men of the same height, but I haven't seen all that many women of that height in my generation. Everyone is getting taller on average.
