My calves are killing me like crazy.
They've rested for 2 days... but they are sore to the touch and hurt when I walk.
Should I stop exercising completely until they heal?
Or can I resume activities just take it easy?

Trending & News Focus on upper body, or better yet simply rest. I would say walk if you can to get blood and nutrients flowing into the muscles. Definitely, massage your muscles. It's important to do so since there is very little else aside from taking a blood thinner like advil or something with ib profin.
You shouldn't directly work out a muscle group that hasn't healed/still is sore. But you can do cardio/play sports with sore muscles. Just stretch!!! omg that's so important, stretch!! massage, hydrate, wear support as necessary, etc.
Can I use the elliptical machine , just take it easy?
Yes, just stretch, that's not a problem
Thanks
No you shouldn't ! I pulled a muscle in my back with a wrong move and it hurt like a bitch but you should keep working out as I did, and just avoid putting too much pressure on the pulled muscle. Worked for me.
Do upper body stuff instead, give them some time to heal. If you make it worse then you're only setting yourself back even further.

... totally subjective.
ie: I still swam 3km's with a pinched back nerve and then walked 10km's :P
No, you should wait for them to heal completely, unless you want to injure yourself permanently.
See where it is in a week. Probably shouldn't do anything until the swelling goes down and the pain subsides.
If they hurt that much then it's probably a good idea to rest. Just stretch them out a lot throughout the time it takes to heal.
I wouldn't dare.
