Trending & News Honestly... Time and suffering :( And the realization that the pain is a good thing, sometimes.
All the supplements and vitamins are probably helpful, but you may not even notice a difference to be honest! Profins like Advil and Alieve are not great on your stomach or intestine, and acetaminophen horrible on your liver! Just accept it as pat of the processes - It's natural! If you feel like your going to "pull a muscle" STOP! lol!
Glad to see you are working on yourself! You are quite an inspiration! I'll be back at it in the morning now that I read this! hahaha!
Stretching, hot/cold baths, additional protein intake, massage, and lots of rest. You're body will experience more intense soreness initially as your body is developing the new musculature, but after that it'll be alright. It's not like intense pain and soreness every single workout. Good luck! Don't let it discourage you again it's not like you'll be so sore each time! 😃โ
I've finally gotten better at being more consistent. Atm I'm working out for 2 days and then 1 day to rest and been repeating that. Since I'm thinking I can handle strength and not pull something anymore. I just started that this week and was prepared for the intense soreness since it's been a while with weights. I don't mind being sore because I actually like the feeling but I hate it when I end up sore and it lasts for a week or so. I just don't want my quads being sore and causing me to not be able to do my cardio part.
You can usually do some good cardio even with sore quads, it's surprising how they warm up with stretching and some light work
thanks mho :)
Epsom salt baths are always nice, as well as making sure to rest and rehydrate properly after workouts.
heat, massage, time these are the things that will help

I assume you did your legs yesterday? Muscle soreness tends to peak about 2 days after the exercise. Simply just drink lots of water so that means when you piss it better not be yellow it should be clear. And just eat your protein. It can also help to do stretches of the muscles you worked at the end of the workout to keep them from getting tight. When I first started lifting weights I literally was so sore in my legs it took me like a minute just to be able to sit down or stand up.
Yeah It was yesterday and today is my rest day.
Well as you workout more you shouldn't be getting as sore. But yeah make sure you eat and drink plenty. Hydration and proper nutrition will really cut down on soreness. And stretching as well. I always do calf, hamstring, quad hip and groin stretches at the end of my leg workouts. When I get sore it's not bad at all now. But yeah I could barley move the few days after my first couple of leg day workouts.
It's good you're resting I recommend not doing legs again until the soreness is gone. Some people say that you should just muscle through the pain but I think that's dumb. If you don't give your muscles the time to recover they won't grow bigger. It's like a cut. You cut your muscles (microtears) and eventually they heal and when they heal they're bigger but that can't happen if you do another leg day before the healing is done.
If you're just starting out, it's normal for them to be sore for a few days. The only thing you can do is make sure your body has the materials needed to do the work, but this won't speed up the work -- it will just not slow it down.
After that, muscle burn should only last a day or so.
But if you have a workout regimen, something is going to be sore, literally every day. But it's worth it.
Downing some quality protein within around 15 mins of ceasing training does help , plus don't forget to properly cool down , then stretch. If your gym has a sauna / steam room , then use that & stretch in there.
generally heat helps to relax the muscle. you can do the old hot then cold routine which is to apply heat of some sort (hot tub for example) and then ice the muscle to avoid inflammation
also keep gently stretching them
Massage and hot baths.
I remember after high school football weight training my skinny ass was just completely shocked by the intensity I in weight training. I remember just sitting in warm bath praying to recover in time for the next round of ass whopping lol.
@ConsultantIsBack XD After weight lifting class did your legs feel extremely wobbly when walking to each class?
Eat cherries before each workout...
Iboprofen should do the trick.
*waits for tims answer*
I was thinking the same thing tbh. XD
I don't want to end up waiting 3-5 days waiting for them to heal and end up losing progress in working out. :(
@Smmyskittles ahahaha GaG's resident muscle man :)
I would have issues doing cardio which I do both. Cardio first and then strength, which having my quads out that's not that good. Today is fine since it's my rest day, though I have my arms and ab's to do strength so that's not the part I'm worried about. It's just getting them healed enough to do cardio and not pull them.
Lmao *blushes*
I feel silly atm, I read your comment as, "times." XD
Beta alanine
