Cosmetic surgery on my left ear as a kid because my mum wanted me to be the perfect Aryan and in her opinion it looked "too flappy", pair of molars also removed in childhood, the Jewish operation in my early teens due to medical reasons and surgery on two ingrown toenails that took over two years to schedule in my late teens.
Pretty sure all of that contributes to what I'm like today.
i have had 2 hip arthroscopy to repair torn cartridge, and tonsils removed threw emergency surgery. and i hope i dont have to have any more for a long time
How is reconstruction surgery not surgery for aesthetic reasons?
Anyways my latest was when I had a splinter removed that had led to a blood poisoning but the worst was when I had my wisdom teeth removed, they were sitting in complicated positions so that was actually a major surgery and no fun at all urgh..
I get what you mean by that but I think 'general/medical surgery' would have been a better term. Like if you got your appendix removed, that would be something with an actual medical purpose.
People usually get reconstructive surgeries after they break their noses for instance although many of them could well live with the nose after the broken bone is healed, it just wouldn't look nice so it's still for aesthetic reasons after all. Another example would be breast reconstruction after breast amputation - it's actually solely for aesthetic purposes.
Reconstruction surgery is often counted as 'aesthetic surgery' in medicine actually.
Well if you put it like that yeah. But it's the same as damaging your car and "fixing" it to look "back to normal"rather than changing the engine or tire design altogether :p hehe
And if a woman has breast cancer, gets them removed in order to prevent it from spreading she most likely will not feel like a woman anymore and wish to have her body back to the way it originally was :/
I had to have surgery to have a giant ovarian cyst removed a few years ago. I looked about six months pregnant and they drained 7 liters of fluid from me.

I've had my wisdom teeth removed & quite a few stitches here & there. In less than a year I have major double jaw surgery. Yikes.
NEVER. I'd honestly be scared shitless if I ever had to have one. All that surgery stuff creeps me out.
I had a hernia when I was a baby so that was my operation.
I had my nose reset when I broke it but that's the closest to any kind of surgery I've had.
Neither, they blew up my belly to see if I had endometriosis
I had a bike spoke removed from my leg once. Also I was born c-section so technically that counts too right?
I've had surgery where I've injured myself racing. Shoulders and back and various other bits that I've injured or broken
no reconstruction or plastic surgery. it was a surgery to remove a pilonidal sinus.
