Is location tracking really the new norm in dating in 2026?

Now that I am back in the dating market after being married and loyal to one girl for a very long time , that decided she wanted to be single all of a sudden , I finally started putting myself back out there and I have been meeting some beautiful girls’ that I enjoy getting to know , but the things I been experiencing with these girls’ are blowing my mind on how so much has changed since I last dated when I was younger. Like what happened to truly getting to know each other and being on the same page with each other from the very beginning? It’s like girls’ immediately want to skip the getting to know each other part and jump right into bed , and once we have sex , she wants to be able to track my location? Like wtf is that all about? Is tracking each others’ location the new norm? Are insecurities that bad these days that you can’t trust each other anymore? This has been blowing my mind as to why girls’ want to track my location , have you experienced this with dating?

No, that's a red flag. Tracking location should only happen in a serious, committed relationship built on mutual trust not early on.

It’s crazy but it seems like it’s the new norm , I didn’t have sex with all of them , just the one I did because I liked the chemistry and connection we shared until she asked me to track me , which turned me off big time as to why she wanted to track me all of a sudden considering we weren’t even in a relationship yet , and now there will never be a relationship because I don’t want to be with an insecure girl whatsoever that can’t trust me , I am a 48 year old guy that isn’t into games and dram whatsoever, if she can’t trust me then no reason to continue dating me is how I look at it. I never asked a girl to let me track her because there is no reason for it unless we are in a long term relationship and fully
Committed to each other. I am now kicking myself in the ass for having sex with her , it’s just been awhile since I had sex as to why I allowed it to happen , not thinking it would turn into this 😂

It’s crazy to me , happy to hear not every girl is doing this , maybe it’s just the area I am living in , I asked some of my single friends’ and they said they are experiencing the same thing. So I guess I am going to start looking for a girl that doesn’t live in this area 😂

I don't know anyone who does this. The only time we do it is if we are meeting somewhere on campus. It is always so busy. I will turn my tracker on so he can find me easier.
