Personal remedies for sore throats?

I'm headachey, my nose is all runny, my throat hurts.

Either my new-to-me allergies have gotten fucking awful or I'm sick... on the first day of summer.

tell me your personal remedies for a sore throat, preferably something I can pick up at the gas station when I go on lunch in a little less than an hour.

I will recommend you to gargle with warm salt water.

When our throats hurt, regardless of what causes it, it’s because the cells in the mucous membranes have become swollen and inflamed. By gargling with salt water you decrease the swelling, as salts primary function is to draw out water, which in turn shrinks the swollen cell and eases the pain.

It also helps wash away the excess mucous and allows your stuffy nose.

Whenever I feel like I'm gonna fall sick, I take emergen-C or airborne (those kinda vitamin tablets that you dissolve in water and then drink it). In fact, I just drank some airborne after dinner cos I was feeling a bit sniffly. You can take it up to 4 times a day and it's always helped me :)

What is known back in the Philippines as "Salabat" is basically ginger "tea" (not made of tea leaves) made by keeping water boiling with ginger pieces and drinking it with/without honey.

Another thing I discovered while in the U. S. Asian markets was this:

Not sure how your feeling today but if your stomach is bothering you, I would advise eating some candied ginger, really good for settling upset stomachs, I think you can get it at Walgreen.

I just usually make a honey and lemon drink. Boiling water, honey, lemon and sugar to taste. The hot water nd the honey soothe the throat, and lemon helps kill germs and just tastes nice with the honey lol. If it's available, a small spoon of cayenne pepper in the drink too- small spoon won't make it spicy, but the pepper will help clear your mucus.

Gargling with warm salt water, sucking on cough drops, using throat spray, drinking herbal tea with lemon juice and honey, sucking on ice, drink plenty of ice water and take Tylenol. If you have mucus in your throat, avoid milk and ice cream as dairy products tends to make mucus worse.

Apple Cider Vinegar with a little salt in warm water will kill any bacteria in the throat and heal the soreness while restoring the nutrient balance in the throat, it's the best remedy so far for sore throats.

i don't know about the gas station, but there is this hot honey/lemon tea that is alkaseltzer plus cold brand. try publix. it kicks the crap out of colds. or you can try a mucinex that decongests the nose and chest. both are good.

Buy yourself raw unpasturized honey and the sore throat will go away faster than you intially would've thought. Don't go towards commercial honey they do not work well at all.

You can either do some warm water with salt gargling or drink hot lemon juice with honey, I normally just make lemon and ginger tea (with extra lemon juice) and add some honey, it does help
