Can a blood test detect?

Hiv? Say the infection progressed and started affecting ur organs can a blood test identify the cause without doing a hiv related test. Is there a way to tell with just a regular blood test.

Not really, no. You could get hints from a CBC with differential, but before there was an HIV test, all we could do is look for patterns of infections like Karposi's sarcoma or thrush or maybe hepatitis from hep c.

No there is an actual HIV test that is done. Other signs and symptoms could suggest HIV but you would need the actual test would be needed to confirm.
