Can't you die from loosing a lot of blood on your period?

When it's time for the monthly thing I don't get how people can't die because they loose a lot of blood so it's like how are you still alive

20- 60 ml of blood is what most girls lose during their periods if it reaches above 80 ml then it could be an indication of anemia and then more iron needs to be consumed to solve the problem but you can't actually die from your monthly cycle it may seem like a lot of blood but it's about a 4th of what they take at blood drives for donation however if there is very heavy bleeding then the woman must just take plenty of salts and water.

Every girl has a different flow. If you have a heavy flow you can't die, you'll just become Anemic. It you don't get that taken care of you can become Severe Anemic then... That'll cause problems. Changing birth controls or taking Iron pills will take care of it.

Haven't seen anyone lose more than say 100ml of blood a day. Which is still a lot for a period. I think you would have to lose like 1 liter before things get problematic.

most of the discharge is just the uterine wall coming out. you're womb prepped for a baby and no baby so the limning falls off.

The blood that comes out isn't really as much as we think. It can be anywhere from a few teaspoons to a cup. Nothing major. And most of it is in your uterus already to assist with the preparation for a baby.

Actually, no, you don't lose that much blood, the average is 30 - 40 millilitres which is really nothing, especially when we don't just... Not replenish it :P

You only lose about 30-40ML on an average cycle, up to 80ML if you have a heavy flow. It just looks like a lot. Especially if you use pads and tampons.

You only lose around 40-50ml of blood during the entirety of your period, so that's barely anything, as far as blood loss is concerned.

While menstrual fluid is red the actual amount of blood is less than a few tablespoons. Our bodies easily regenerate that.

Unless you are a hemophiliac I do not see this being likely. However your Iron level will be screwed up causing things like Iron Deficiency Anemia and other health concerns if you have a period too long.

Because it only comes from the lining of your uterus that has built up all month.

You aren't bleeding out. you're just shedding a lining.

We have an average of 3 litters of blood, the blood we lose during our periods shouldn't be a problem. Keep drinking water to recover the liquids you lose.

your body is not getting drained out of blood... its just a certain area that is "shedding" so no...

but you can get anemia and stuff if you dont compensate for the blood loss

When I was young (middle school) and have my period I believe I would die cause I lost so much blood. Now cause I lost a lot of weight I don't loose as much blood as I used to looses so that's cool.

I'm not a girl but the human body has so much blood so I'm guessing it's not possible to lose that much blood but I'm a guy so what do I know.
