Expired implanon?

I'm not sure if this is an appropriate question for this website but I'm concerned and no websites seem to have the answer. I've had implanon (the birth control arm implant) for a little over 3 years-the expiration for it is 3 years. I can't go and get it replaced for a while and my doctor never told me whether I could get pregnant after the expiration date because I wasn't sexually active at the time and I just forgot to ask. Does anyone know if you have a more likely chance of getting pregnant after the expiration date?

Since the prescribing information says that it provides protection against pregnancy for up to three years, that means that you level of protection starts to fall as you approach the three year mark. You should not be relying on the implant to give you any birth control protection at present.

Your more likely as it's lower hormones left but it does have enough to last 4, just be careful
